Through a press release, the developer Firesprite Games is thrilled to reveal the acclaimed sci-fi horror experience The Persistence which will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on Thursday 21 May.

The Persistence offers gamers an intentionally wild take on survival horror that integrates innovative design into the roguelike genre, with its console and PC release marking its first arrival on 4K screens and debut on Nintendo and Microsoft platforms. “When we made the move to bring The Persistence to new platforms, our main goal was to ensure that the particularly brutal nature of the gameplay made the leap to non-virtual reality,” says Graeme Ankers, MD and founder of Firesprite Games. “As a result, The Persistence keeps players on edge from start to finish, and with a procedurally generated environment forming around them, there are never two identical playthroughs, meaning you’ll never find safety in the same place.” .

Set in the year 2521, in The Persistence players will have to survive aboard a spaceship in deep space overrun by horrific mutants and murders. The game will see them battle through the depths of an ever-changing maze to bring the ship back to Earth, with this new version heightening the tension with enhanced environments and post-processing effects.

Firesprite Games is also pleased to announce that players who already own the PlayStation VR version will receive these features via an update on PS4 at no additional cost. The Persistence will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on Thursday 21 May 2020 at a cost of 29.99 euros. Those who book on Nintendo Switch (between Thursday 23 April and Wednesday 20 May) and Xbox One (between Thursday 30 April and Wednesday 20 May) will receive a 10% discount.
