“The ‘X’ button unites the industry”, highlights Xbox team at Microsoft
As much as there are preferences with regard to consoles, all players must agree with the fact that, in one way or another, companies are united in some way – and Microsoft made a point of remembering this in a message posted on Twitter. The post came after Sony revealed that the PlayStation “X” button is not an “x” but a “cross”.
The message you see below was released to celebrate National Videogames Day (celebrated on September 12), and shows that whatever the platform, all players are united by means of the “X” key or button, present on all controls of the platforms of the current generation.
No matter what you call it, one thing that unites us all is the X button.

“No matter what you call it, one thing that unites us all is the ‘X’ button,” the company’s message underscores.
Sony gained attention in the news when it informed that, for it, the button in question should be known as “cross”. However, we believe that changing this concept will be very difficult now that everyone is used to calling the key in question “X”.
