Ubisoft games for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will have the price maintained, initially

Ubisoft talks about the next generation and the value of games

So far, the 2K Games is the only publisher to announce a $ 70 price tag for one of its games on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but many believe that many publishers will do the same. Another publisher, Ubisoft, spoke on the subject.

The publisher’s games released for next generation platforms will be released at the regular price of $ 60, at least this year. Speaking to its investors about the first quarter of fiscal 2020-21, the company confirmed that Watch Dogs: Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla would no longer be expensive on next generation consoles. Interestingly, however, when asked if this will be the case for games released in 2021 and beyond, Ubisoft declined to say anything, stating that, for now, they are focused only on games released this year.

If Ubisoft also raises the prices of its games in the next generation, it will be interesting to see how they handle Smart Delivery and next-generation updates on PS5. Obviously, they have not yet said that they will do this, but it is very much within the possibilities.
