Ultra Bonus Event for Pokémon Go extended

Niantic has announced that they are extending the Ultra Bonus Event for Pokémon Go. This allows you to still get possession of a number of Legendary Pokémon.

The Ultra Bonus Event marks the end of a summer of Pokémon Go events. Previously you could already score the legendaries Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres via Raid Battles. The birds were then replaced by Mewtwo, which can be fixed until October 23.

However, this extension is specific to the Pokémon hidden in 7 kilometers of Eggs. You can now score this for a whole week, so until October 8. These are the region-specific Farfetch’d, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime and Tauros, which you can normally only find exclusively in Asia, Oceania, Europe and North America respectively.

Reason enough to go out again? Or were you still playing Pokémon Go anyway?

Overwatch Halloween Terror Event starts October 9

Also this year Overwatch will come with a Halloween Terror Event. In the Twitter announcement, you can see how Chateau Guillard turns into a creepy mansion.

The Halloween Terror storyline revolves around a group of adventurers who take on the Witch of the Wilds and Dr. Junkenstein. It looks like they will be visiting Chateau Guillard this year …

Based on previous editions, the Halloween Terror Event is likely to add new skins, emotes, loot boxes, and game modes to Overwatch this year. No doubt more about that later.

Google Announces Project Stream Testing with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Google is showing their game streaming technology in a new video. To show the power of this Project Stream, one plays Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in the Google Chrome browser.

The idea behind the streaming service is that you can play games like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in your browser with the same ease as on the Xbox One.

“We’ve been working on Project Stream, a technical test to solve some of the biggest challenges of streaming. For this test, we’re going to push the limits with one of the most demanding applications for streaming — a blockbuster video game. “

The technical test starts next Friday, on the release day of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Unfortunately, we cannot participate; the test is only open to Americans.

Metro Exodus under a technical scrutiny

FIFA 19 physical sales are lagging in UK

FIFA 19 is not doing as well in terms of physical sales in the UK as its predecessor FIFA 18. A whopping 25 percent less well … Don’t worry: FIFA 19 is still selling like crazy, but the difference is remarkable.

The decrease is partly explained by the fact that people are increasingly opting for a download. Developer EA encourages this, for example, by offering limited early access for FIFA 19 through Origin. However, to explain the full 25 percent, we have to dig deeper …

FIFA shares a good chunk of its playerbase with Fortnite. It is therefore also possible that gamers would rather participate in season 6 than kick a virtual ball.

Be honest: which of the two games do you prefer?

Memes and things
