Blizzard just announced at Blizzcon 2018 that World of Warcraft Classic will be released in the summer of 2019. With WoW Classic you can get the MMORPG in its original form from 2004 (also called Vanilla) play.

To play World of Warcraft Classic you need a current WoW subscription.

If you are lucky enough to actually walk around the BlizzCon exhibition floor, you can check out a demo of World of Warcraft Classic there. The same applies to people with a Virtual Ticket. After the Opening Ceremony they can get started with this legacy WoW.
