World War Z, the game based on the eponymous book that received a film adaptation in 2013, was a surprising success, which motivates the developer Saber Interactive to continue supporting it through free updates that will be available in the coming months.

Later this month, a mission set in the Japanese capital of Tokyo will be added to the game, along with a new type of zombie capable of spitting viruses and reviving itself when shot down, requiring players to find a way to get rid of it completely.

Next month, June, the news will be less with the coming of a new difficulty option called “six skulls” that will reward players who overcome it. To compensate, July will be the start month of the weekly challenge mode and will also bring more skins and accessories for the characters.

Finally, there are also plans to add a hord survival mode, private rooms, PvPvZ (Player vs. Player vs. Zombie) games allowing for class switching and the option to adjust field of view (FOV) levels and graphic details (in the PC version).

World War Z is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
