Xbox Game Pass is now simply called Game Pass
Microsoft announced that via Twitter Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game for PC change name. Both subscription services are now simply called Game Pass. The subscription will also receive a new logo.
The name change immediately sparked speculation among fans about the coming of Game Pass to the PlayStation 4 or the Switch. Phil Spencer, however, already announced last month that Game Pass will not be coming to competing platforms. Presumably, the name change mainly serves to avoid confusion for the PC version of the service, as it is completely separate from the Xbox consoles.
All first party games from Microsoft are immediately playable via Game Pass upon release. In addition, other games come to the service every month. For example, you can now get started with Yakuza Kiwami 2 and The Touryst.
