Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon gets new gameplay packed with news at TGS

At an event at Tokyo Game Show 2019, SEGA presented the new game from the Yakuza franchise. The story of Dojima Dragon, Kazuma Kiryu is over, the protagonist of this new story is Ichiban Kasuga, the Dragon of Rock Bottom, moving the game from Tokyo to Yokohama.

With several news announced and drastic changes in relation to the previous games in the saga, Yakuza 7 will treat “RPG battles for commands in real time”, according to SEGA, confirming the mechanics of turn-based combat, promising a very varied fighting dynamics with plenty of skills and intensity.

Like a Dragon tells the story of Ichiban Kasuga, a member of the Yakuza mafia, who is abandoned by his family when he discovers a secret scheme between the mobsters and the police. In search of revenge against the alliance, Kasuga will set out on a journey of much violence and fighting on the streets of Yokohama.

During Tokyo Game Show 2019, SEGA also released a trailer with gameplay of its new game, as well as an ad trailer presenting the story and more details about what Yakuza 7 will bring about in terms of gameplay and in relation to previous games of the franchise. See below the trailers released:

Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon will be exclusive to Playstation 4 and will arrive in Japan in January 2020. There is still no release date in the West.
