You may know some of these features, but I bet you didn’t know all of them. Prepared?

Best iOS Tricks for Power Users

These tricks will help you in many cases to improve productivity, in others they will improve your experience with the iPhone, and the vast majority are not only compatible with the iPhone, they are also compatible with the iPad.

Battery charge optimization

The battery is essential in the iPhone and there are many tips to take care of it properly, but it is something that Apple also knows and that is why it has introduced improvements to improve battery wear. Even a function is called Optimized Charging and it manages to reduce the deterioration of the battery by learning from our daily charging habits and thus charge iPhone up to 80% and finish charging just before you go to use it, perfect for day to day and night loads. To activate it follow these steps:

  • We came in Settings on our iPhone.
  • We look for the section Drums, we enter it and click on Battery health.
  • Down we activate Optimized loading.

New scroll bar

Another novelty in iOS 13 that allows us to be more productive and faster when moving around a web page, an application or a document. On the left side of the screen you will see a small scroll indicator, now with iOS 13 you can click on it to go down or up quickly without having to swipe across the screen. When you touch it, you will see that the iPhone vibrates slightly and the indicator becomes thicker, now only slid to move faster.

Scan documents from Files

Currently we no longer need a scanner at home, with our iPhone or iPad we have more than enough. But what few know is that it is also not necessary to download any type of app since our devices have this native function at the system level. From the Files application we can scan anything we want and save it in the device memory, in iCloud or in any other cloud service, and even print this document directly. To do so, follow these steps:

  • Open the app Records on your iPhone or iPad.
  • In the upper right area you will see an icon with 3 points, press it.
  • Tap on Scan documents.
  • Once finished you can save them Where you want.

Remove information from your photos before sending them

A lot of information is stored in the photos that we may not want to share, such as the location where that photo or video was taken. It is very likely that you prefer that the location is not associated with your photo when you send it, and fortunately there is a very fast option to do it.

  • Enter the app Photos and in the photo or video that you want to share.
  • Click on the button Share down left.
  • The iOS interface will appear to share, but above you will see the word in blue Options, click on it.
  • Now you will see a new menu where you can unmark the location.
  • You can send the photo without the location to any contact through the apps that appear.

Delete apps directly from the App Store

The way to see the updates has changed in the iOS and iPadOS 13 App Store, now they are available in our profile, by clicking on the photo that appears at the top right. But it is not the only novelty, Apple now allows you to delete any of the apps directly from here, something very useful when updating an app that you have not used for months. All you have to do is swipe the app to the left and click on Delete.

Allow downloads of more than 200 MB from the App Store using mobile data

Customs have changed and now it is not strange to have a mobile data rate with several GB or even unlimited. That is why Apple has decided remove the traditional 200MB barrier downloaded through data and now you can do it easily, yes, you must activate this option in the settings.

  • Open the app Settings on your iPhone.
  • Find the section iTunes Store and App Store.
  • Go into Download apps and select your preferred limit option when downloading apps via data.

Manage Safari Downloads

This is another novelty of iOS and iPadOS 13: Safari has its own download manager. This is very useful but we must configure it well and this has been done since Settings Announce messages with Siri.

Prevent the screen from turning off when you’re looking at it

If you use the iPhone to read on the internet, the screen may occasionally dim itself before the device locks up. This is done to reduce battery consumption, but fortunately there is an option on iPhones and iPads with Face ID so that the device recognizes that we are looking at the screen and does not turn it off, to do so follow these steps:

  • Enter the Settings from your iPhone or iPad.
  • Tap on Accessibility and then in Face ID and attention.
  • Active Attention Sensing Features.

Buy yourself audio with other AirPods

And finally another new function available in iOS and iPadOS 13: share audio with a second look like AirPods, or Beats. Thanks to this function we can connect two pairs of AirPods at the same time and temporarily to share the music, video or movie that we are watching with someone. Activating it is very simple, you just have to open the AirPods next to the device you want to share audio with and a small window will appear informing you of this possibility.

Hopefully you liked these tricks and found them to be the most useful, it is true that you may not use them all at the same time, but it is great to know them to improve the user experience and capabilities of your iPhone.
