It is a bit complicated to describe the idea of A Monster’s Expedition, it is a puzzle and at the same time a puzzle that seems to have no end. It is also an adventure to rediscover human life through the gaze and perspective of curious monsters. We do not leave more ideas in the air, we are going to show you a puzzle that, if you are a lover of them, you will love it.

The story of the game is based on an archeological site located in an archipelago, the intention is to learn and reveal the mysteries of our civilization. In addition, all the roads are connected throughout the archipelago. Small islands that you can explore and that in turn you will have to manage to connect and continue discovering. Graphically, it calls out to you and catches you as you go from island to island, even though it seems endless. As I said at the beginning, if you are a lover of this kind of games, you are going to enjoy it enormously.
You will have to complete the visit of all the islands to reveal the entire archipelago that is covered in mist. You will come across different environments and scenarios, logs that will serve as bridges and rafts to advance, and mysterious mailboxes to quickly travel throughout the environment. The game environment
A group of deserted islands in which you will only depend on the trees to advance. A Monster’s Expedition has intuitive controls in which just touching and scrolling your finger on the screen will be enough (on touch devices). Moving will help you knock down the trees and be able to take the logs from one place to another.
Here is the main intention of the game. You have to arrange the logs in such a way that it allows you to advance to the next island. The shape and position of the trunk must be connected in only one way. If you drop the log into the water and the position is not correct, you will have to restart the process. Don’t worry about starting again, the game has two additional buttons that will always be with you. One is to undo a step prior to the current one and the next one is to reset the island to its original state.
You will be able to advance a lot until you find a different scenario, since you will find snow, mushrooms and even a tropical environment. This may be a weak point of the game, you feel for a long time that you are not advancing and there is no indicator that tells you how much is left to advance in the entire archipelago.
Adorable and attractive graphics, gameplay not so much
As a non-lover of classic and modern puzzles, I found A Monster’s Expedition to be a not-so-friendly game for everyone. The island has a great similarity in most of the game, so if you can’t move fast I’m sure you’ll end up leaving it. What helps to persevere to finish the advance are the additional undo buttons. If you make a mistake in the position of a log, it is almost likely that before the game tells you, you are already restarting the process.
The key is to figure out how the system of knocking down each log works and how they can be moved around the island. This part of the game is accompanied by the graphics and small sounds that make it up. The drawings, the stories of each mystery and what the monster discovers as it progresses is the most remarkable part of the title. You can know some information about our civilization illustrated in a text from a comedy and satire narrative that reflects what we are today.
Discover new ways and go all the way (if you can) in A Monster’s Expedition
Just as it is time to highlight the benefits and successes of the games in the Arcade catalogue, we must also point out those games that have not earned our charm. In my case, not being an active puzzle player, A Monster’s Expedition did not surprise me. There are other titles with a different narrative and a slightly more advanced but attractive gameplay.

Perhaps the solution to each island is easier than it seems, after several attempts I have been able to advance by 15% of the game, falling in repetition after repetition.
