Of the many ROMs that exist for Android possibly MIUI have one of the interfaces more attractive and showy. Behind this project there are a good number of developers working and it is not surprising that their Android versions are so popular since they work very well in addition to being beautiful.

However, today we are not going to talk about ROMS but rather we are going to focus on a specific application from this team of developers. MIUI has released a beta of MIUI Weather, a really nice weather widget that comes to compete with Fancy Widget, Beautiful Widget and company.

MIUI 12 ALL THE NEWS and when we can INSTALL IT

In appearance, as you can see in the screenshots, it maintains many of the aesthetic keys of MIUI: a clean interface and a very careful design on the icons. The truth is that they have worked this aspect very well, you just have to see any image or icon, the work is superb.

MIUI Weather comes in two sizes. On the one hand a 4×1 widget with the weather information, on the other a 4×2 widget that shows the time in a style similar to that of HTC Sense and LG Optimus as well as, of course, the weather.

However MIUI Weather has a pretty big drawback: at the moment it only shows the temperature in Fahrenheit degrees. This is not a problem for those who live in countries where they use this unit system, but in the case of Spain it is a bit cumbersome.

At the moment the application is not available in the Android Market and to install it you need a bit of skill. We will explain step by step how to install MIUI Weather on our device. First of all I would like to clarify that this little guide is for rooted users:

  • We download the corresponding .apk file. If we live in Spain we take that of Europe, if we live in the United States we will have to choose according to the State in which we reside.
  • We download and install ES Explorer.
  • We copy the MIUI Weather .apk to the root of the SD card.
  • We open ES Explorer, go to configuration, look for the root options and activate the two options.
  • In ES Explorer we look for the apk in the SD, we hold down the finger on the button and select copy or cut.
  • In the top menu of ES Explorer we change from the SD to the phone memory and go to the following folder / system / app.
  • In the tab at the bottom of ES Explorer (if it does not appear, we have not copied the .apk correctly) we press it, and click on MIUI Weather.
  • Ready, the application is already copied.

From here we load the widget like any other. At the moment the GPS option does not work well so it is best to deactivate it and add our city manually.

If you want to install MIUI Weather without root you can take a look at the official thread of the application in the XDA Developers forum. Anyway, in view of the fact that the application is not yet on the market and it does not have degrees Celsius, I recommend that you wait for a final version to come out.

If instead you love it test and fiddle I recommend that you try to install it, not only to enjoy the application but also to learn how to do new things with your Android.
