According to Nostalrius, it wasn’t a good idea to start another unofficial server.
According to them, the operation of Elysium only worsens the perception of private servers in the eyes of the community and Blizzard, so they asked the developers to shut down the project for a common goal.
As we were just beginning to believe that there would be no more twists in the story, the Nostalrius leadership issued a statement in which virtually the entire community was outraged.
If anyone was left behind: Blizzard shut down the largest private legacy WoW server last year and then began negotiations with the makers for an official solution. After a few months of complete silence, the makers of Nostalrius released the code to another team to breathe new life into private servers. And now they are being asked to stop the project a month and a half later.

Nostalrius management sees the problem in the fact that only a relatively small number of their players have migrated to the new servers, while the entire legacy community has garnered the dislike of those who play on official servers who view them as pirates. According to Nostalrius, this goes against the principles they have professed and is necessary to unite the community, and further worsens the situation for official legacy servers. Exactly, they are asking Elysium not to continue to use the code they issue because the community and spirituality of Nostalrius is no longer focused on private servers but on the birth of official servers.
The community was logically outraged. Many say only a few could switch to the new servers because the transfer system didn’t work. Most disagree with the statement, and many straight out there is Blizzard in the background who doesn’t want to get angry at the fans again, so they’re trying to put pressure on the Elysium through Nostalrius.

Elysium responded in an official statement stating:
We believe that our movement must remain loud and we will do everything we can to keep that going. Our players need a home, and we’ll provide that for them until Blizzard announces the official Legacy servers.

The creators have promised to delete the Nostalrius code and rename their servers in the coming weeks, but they have no idea how to delete the characters and shoot the servers. It was said that Elysium’s servers, which work with 62 volunteers, have 155% more active users than Nostalrius, with more than 30,000 people online 4 times a day. The creators believe the numbers speak for themselves, and if anything, the huge interest will advance the cause of legacy servers.
