Activision will show the zombie mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War on Wednesday
It was announced via the official Call of Duty Twitter channel that we will see the zombie mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War on Wednesday. More than ‘Zombies. Are. Back. ‘ unfortunately we do not know yet, but fortunately that will not take long now. The stream can be viewed on the Call of Duty YouTube channel on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Dutch time.

In addition to a trailer, we will undoubtedly get to see the necessary gameplay images, to give us a good idea of what is involved in the zombie mode this year. Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War will be in shops November 13.
Large number of CS: GO coaches suspended due to spectator bug abuse
During the past month, multiple CS: GO coaches have been banned for taking advantage of a spectator bug that gives them an unfair advantage. The bug allows spectators to fly freely above the map, revealing locations that shouldn’t be. The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has announced it will take action against 37 coaches for exploiting the glitch. So far, they have already checked about 20 percent of the total number of demos available. These demos are probably the most substantial examples of abuse.
The 37 coaches can expect a suspension of five to thirty-six months, depending on each person. Coaches who admit abuse of the bug will receive a shorter sentence.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars sold great at launch
Super Mario 3D All-Stars managed to sell more copies in the first two weeks after launch than Marvel’s Avengers sold in the first four weeks, making it the best-selling game in September. Unfortunately we do not have precise sales figures, but below you can see the top ten of the month.
Mafia Trilogy and Mafia: Definitive Edition are two newcomers to the list, but they both know not to knock Mario and Avengers out of the top 2, despite the Mafia games only being released last week.
It continues to surprise the Guard that games like Minecraft, Mario Kart 8: Deluxe and GTA 5 can be found in these lists every week.
EA (again) under fire after advertising loot boxes in toy shop folder
It’s that time again: EA has done something that the gaming community doesn’t like. The advertisement below in the English magazine Smyths Toys advises readers to play FIFA Ultimate Team, and then use FIFA Points to open packs. The fact that EA uses a flyer for a toy store – which is mainly read by children – to promote loot boxes, is not surprisingly not so popular with Twitter and Reddit users, among others.

Gamers are understandably angry, but little will change without government intervention. Fortunately, it cannot be ruled out that the English government will intervene, because there have been sounds from the UK for a while that they intend to fight loot boxes, as is already being done by the government to a certain extent in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Overcooked 2 is getting free DLC again
It’s time for the next free update to Overcooked 2! Where they celebrated the start of summer in July, the next update is all about fall. What exactly we get with the update is not in the Tweet, but the developers do give a hint:
Crunchy golden leaves, ruby sunsets and the sweet smell of woodsmoke drifting from your BURNING KITCHEN !!!
And that ‘burning kitchen’ will be there, because that’s the chaos you can expect from Overcooked 2. Fortunately, we no longer have to wait that long for this update, because it will be released in two days (October 1)!

Avatar 2 has finished filming
About eleven years after the first volume came out, Avatar 2 has now finished filming. Unfortunately, that does not mean that we can expect the film in the cinema any time soon. Currently, the release date of Avatar 2 is set for December 16, 2022, while particle three in the series is scheduled for December 20, 2024. We don’t have to wait 13 years for that! How is that possible? Because not only have they started filming part three, they are almost done with it too!
The day we deliver Avatar 2, we’ll just start working on finishing Avatar 3. So where we are right now, I’m down in New Zealand shooting. We’re shooting the remainder of the live-action. We’ve got about 10% left to go. We’re 100% complete on Avatar 2, and we’re sort of 95% complete on Avatar 3.
So James Cameron just makes two films at the same time. That goes to show that money isn’t the problem, but that shouldn’t surprise anyone after the incredible success of the first Avatar movie from 2009.
Filming is clearly not the biggest obstacle. Getting the first movie’s VFX in order took over a thousand men, and it seems like they’re only going to get it bigger for these sequels. For example, a budget of 1 billion dollars (!) Has been made available for four films. Because yes, a total of four new Avatar movies will be added. This is the preliminary release schedule:
- Avatar 2: December 16, 2022
- Avatar 3: December 20, 2024
- Avatar 4: December 18, 2026
- Avatar 5: December 22, 2028
All nice and ambitious, but otherwise let’s first see if part 2 will be a success?
Filming of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings TV series started again
Since March, the filming of Amazon’s Lord of the Rings TV series has been on hold, but now they have finally started again. Just before the break they managed to finish the first two episodes, directed by JA Bayona. The five months in which no filming was done, however, was already planned last year due to the winter in New Zealand. The corona virus is therefore not directly related to this. As a result, the production of the series has not been delayed.
While we don’t know yet when the first season of this Lord of the Rings series will be released, we already know that there will be a second season. The team behind the series have used the past few months to write the scripts for the second season. A total of five seasons are planned.
