Huami today presented its new smartwatches, or what is the same, the second generation of two of its most popular devices, the Amazfit GTR and the Amazfit GTS. Both models have just welcome your successors And, complying with what had been leaked on them (and what the brand itself had confirmed) they do not present great exterior changes, but they do bring important innovations inside.
Both the Amazfit GTR 2 and the Amazfit GTS 2 keep the AMOLED screen and the heart rate sensor of their predecessors, but add a sensor for measure blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), promise greater autonomy and incorporate a speaker and a microphone to interact with Xiaomi’s virtual assistant.

Amazfit GTR 2: now, with borderless screen
In terms of its external appearance, the GTR 2 goes from a flat screen design with a face with sharp edges to a screen that occupies almost the entire front and with slightly curved edges. We are talking about a 1.39-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels and two physical buttons on the side.
Although Huami has not disclosed exactly how much storage space it has, it does allow 300 to 600 MP3 songs to be saved through the Chinese service NetEase Cloud Music. In terms of connectivity, it has Bluetooth 5, WiFi and NFC, while to power itself, it includes a 471 mAh battery that promises up to 14 days of typical use.
Between the health and sport functions of Huami that this Amazfit GTR 2 offers, stand out the monitoring of the sleep and the cardiac pulse, the registry of 12 sport modes or the newcomer calculation of the saturation of oxygen in blood (SpO2). It also includes a microphone and a speaker to communicate with Xiaomi’s assistant, Xiao Ai.
Amazfit GTS 2: smarter and more autonomous
On the design side, the Amazfit GTS 2 maintains its only physical button and dispenses with the edge of the screen, which now includes a small curvature in its axes and occupies most of the front. Said screen reaches 1.35 inches, is AMOLED and has a resolution of 348 x 442 pixels.
Otherwise, it has the same features (new and inherited from the previous generation) as the Amazfit GTR 2, including the ability to store 300 to 600 MP3 songs, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) measurement, 12 sport modes, Bluetooth, NFC and WiFi connectivity, and the built-in speaker and microphone to interact with Xiao Ai.
As the Amazfit GTS 2 is a little smaller than the GTR 2, it includes a lower capacity battery, specifically, 246 mAh that, according to the official measurements of the company, it should give for a typical use of 7 days or 25 hours of continuous GPS use.
Versions and prices of the Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2
After the presentation of the watches in China, both models have been officially announced for Spain. The GTR 2 will be available on October 30, for the Amazfit GTS 2 we will have to wait until the end of November.
