Today Huami had called us to meet his new generation of smart watches, the Amazfit GTR 2 and Amazfit GTS 2, which were almost completely leaked yesterday. The presentation is in a few hours, but the Amazfit GTR 2 -the model with a circular crown- has not been long in coming and all its details can now be consulted on its official website.
The Amazfit GTR 2 is an interesting evolution of this smartwatch, which comes with a borderless screen, SpO2 oxygen measurement, more connectivity and the possibility of playing music autonomously with its own speaker.

Borderless display, microphone and speaker
In plain sight it is easy to recognize that the Amazfit GTR 2 has undergone some interesting changes in its design compared to the previous generation. We went from the flat-screen design with a dial with sharp edges to a screen that occupies almost the entire front and with slightly curved edges.
Is a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and with a resolution of 454 x 454 pixels, while the two physical buttons are maintained, although also with a somewhat more rounded design than in the previous generation.
If we focus on the smart functions, the Amazfit GTR and GTS pair weren’t the brightest: unlike other smartwatches, they hardly have any storage space, so you couldn’t store your own songs to listen to without needing the telephone.
This changes in the second generation and, although Huami has not revealed exactly how much storage space is available, they assure that can save 300 to 600 MP3 songs. Of course, at least in China, the process is carried out through the NetEase Cloud Music service.
This music can be heard in the speaker itself included in the watch, or in wireless headphones connected directly to the watch, without the need for intervention from the mobile. For this, the Amazfit GTR 2 earns points in connectivity by adding Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi and NFC.
Of course, Huami’s health and sport functions are still there, with sleep monitoring, recording 12 sport modes or the newcomer, calculating the blood oxygen saturation or SpO2.
The Amazfit GTR 2 has a 471 mAh battery that should extend to around 14 days of typical use, according to official measurements, and includes a microphone to communicate with Xiaomi’s assistant, Xiao Ai. NFC can be used for payments in supported regions and systems.
Versions and prices of the Amazfit GTR 2
The Amazfit GTR 2 is currently available in China and in two colors, with with a classic and a sporty style similar to those of the previous generation and an official price of 999 yuan, about 125 euros to change.
