Apple prepares five iPhones for 2020, four of them with OLED panels and 5G, according to Ming-Chi Kuo
Although the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max have been relatively short on the market, the leaks related to the iPhone of the year 2020 have not been asked. The last one comes from the hand of analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, one of the most reputable “leakers” in the Apple sector with a significant track record of successes to his credit. This affirms that in 2020 there will not be three iPhones as has been the case since the launch of the iPhone X, but five.
According to Kuo, Apple’s catalog would be made up of four terminals that would follow the path set by the iPhone X in terms of design, in addition to a fifth terminal that, due to the image published in MacRumors, would have a design similar to the iPhone 8. This is something that is familiar, since in October of this year Kuo released this data saying that it would have the processor A13 Bionic and that it would become a spiritual successor to the iPhone SE.
Five sizes and up to three cameras
In the TF International Securities briefing note, Kuo states that the smallest iPhone will have 3GB of RAM, a 4.7-inch LCD screen and a single rear camera. The design would be similar to older iPhone models, that is, with upper and lower frames and Touch ID on the latter. It would be followed by a somewhat larger iPhone with two cameras, one 5.4 inch screen and OLED panel, which apparently would be smaller than the current iPhone 11, whose screen amounts to 5.8 inches.
The intermediate models, possible successors of the iPhone 11 Pro, sThey were both 6.1 inches, in both cases with OLED panels. Where is the difference? In the number of cameras from the rear. One of them, Kuo slides, will have two cameras (like the iPhone 11), while the second will have three lenses and a ToF sensor. Recall that the current iPhone configuration is normal angle and telephoto or normal angle, telephoto and wide angle, depending on whether it is the iPhone 11 or the iPhone 11 Pro.
According to Kuo, the four iPhone with OLED screen will have 5G
The fifth is an iPhone with a 6.7-inch OLED screens (0.2 inches larger than iPhone 11 Pro Max). This will also, always according to Kuo, with a triple rear camera and ToF. Something that all OLED iPhones share is that they will be 5G, although it is not clear whether they will be compatible with Sub-6 or Sub-6 and mmWave. In that sense, the CEO of Qualcomm has already ensured that his main priority is the iPhone with 5G as soon as possible.
Last but not least, Kuo has also advanced what, according to him, we can expect for 2021. The analyst says that in two years we will have an iPhone SE2 Plus with a screen size of 5.5 or 6, 1 inch and, as has been rumored for a long time, high-end models without Lightning port. It is not the first time that there is talk that Apple would leave its own connector to opt for the USB type C port (as in the iPad Pro), so the door remains open. Be that as it may, at the moment they are only leaks, so we will have to wait.
