It is finally here, after some problems to finalize its manufacture, today Apple is putting on sale what is the most powerful computer in all its history, and also the most expensive. Obviously we mean the Mac Pro, a true beast that is not aimed at the common user, but at audio and video professionals who require the maximum possible power.

When we met him during WWDC 2019, Apple confirmed that the Mac Pro would start at 6,499 euros for the tower model and 7,199 euros for the rack model. This for the pure computer, since the monitor is sold separately.

Now with the official launch by Apple, it is possible to configure our Mac Pro to our liking, being able to choose from a wide variety of components that will offer us more possibilities, as long as we have the budget. And is that the maximum configuration of the Mac Pro today is 62,648 euros. I repeat, for the pure computer.

Plus another 7,817 euros for the Pro Display XDR monitor

At the moment, the rack configuration is not available for, while the tower version of the Mac Pro in its maximum configuration includes the following:

  • 28-core 2.5GHz Intel Xeon W processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.4GHz.
  • 1.5 TB (12 x 128 GB) of DDR4 ECC memory.
  • Two Radeon Pro Vega II Duo with 2 x 32 GB of HBM2 memory each.
  • 4 TB of internal SSD storage.
  • Apple Afterburner card.
  • Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Trackpad 2.
  • Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad
  • Final Cut Pro X video editing software.
  • Logic Pro X recording studio software.

Of all these components the most expensive is the RAM, which represents 30,000 euros. On the other hand, we must consider that Apple offers us the possibility that our Mac Pro has wheels, so that we will have to pay 480 euros more.

For this maximum configuration, Apple promises us that we will receive it between December 27 and January 7, in case we decide to pay for expedited shipping. Otherwise, “normal” delivery dates will be between December 30 and January 8 at no additional cost.

It should be noted that Apple considers future components in the configuration that are currently not available to choose from, which could further increase the price of the Mac Pro. For example, an SSD with 8TB of storage, as well as the option of one or two Radeon Pro W5700X with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory.

And since we are in this, and if we want to have the complete package, we must consider Apple Pro Display XDR monitor, whose price is 5,499 euros in standard glass and without any type of support. If we want to acquire it with nanotextured glass, it will cost us 6,499 euros, to which we must add 1,099 from the stand. That is, 7,598 euros.

In all, looking at the more powerful version of the Mac Pro (on wheels) and the Pro Display XDR at its maximum configuration, we are talking about what we would need 70,726 euros.

Apple’s Mac Pro is here, whose most powerful configuration is 62,648 euros (plus 480 euros if we want it with wheels)
