Origins is the biggest change to the series since Assassin’s Creed II. The game has been completely overhauled, distancing itself from its predecessors, both in layout and mechanics, being much closer to today’s open world games, such as The Witcher 3 and The Elder Scrolls Online, for example. Now it is possible to evolve the character as a whole, improving his weapons, creating new accessories through collected resources, changing clothes, improving his mount, etc. There is also a skill tree that adds new features and enhances existing ones, leaving your character much more prepared for battles.
The combat style has also evolved. The graphics are magnificent. Ubisoft has taken care to make the local geography as realistic as possible. You can see the environment changing gradually when crossing from one city to another, the desert dunes contrast with arid land full of rocks. The cities, on the other hand, are rich in detail, seeking to faithfully represent iconic places in history. The same care occurs in the characters. Faces are well modeled and clothes and armor are full of ornaments, and many variations of clothing are seen throughout the game.
With over 40 hours of content, the new Assassin’s Creed is a fresh new experience that fuels one of gaming’s most beloved franchises. The plot portrays the ethno-cultural conflicts of the period very well, while also focusing on fitting the origin of the Assassins into this context. With a new battle and evolution system, Origins is the update that the saga deserves for the current generation of consoles and PC.
