Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Announces Release Date For First Expansion And Launches ‘Ostara Season’.
The first major expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Wrath of the Druids, will be available April 29, 2021. In addition, the second season ‘Ostara’ introduces exclusive narrative content and in-game events open to all players. The new season kicks off today with a limited-time in-game event called Ostara Festival where players complete new challenges and earn rewards.
The Ostara Festival, the first update of the new season, takes place in Ravensthorpe and is available until April 8. Players will discover several Easter-themed festivities, including:
- Decorate the settlement
- Mini-games in which players drink, shoot archery and fight
- Three new quests in which Eivor enjoys an egg hunt and May Queen celebration, and must protect the settlement from night ghosts
- Three new abilities: Fearless Leaper allows Eivor to drop attack on enemies, and the Ravens Loot and Loot Food abilities increase Eivor’s efficiency when fighting at close range or from a distance
- Exclusive rewards, including settlement decorations and customization items
To experience the festival, players must have made it to England and completed the Grantebridgescire or Ledecestrescire storyline. The festival kicks off automatically when players visit their settlement. In addition, to access the May Queen’s activity, players’ settlements must be level 3.

Also, the first update of the new season introduces new visual customization options for Eivor’s gear, known as transmogrification. The original stats remain unchanged so players can keep their build and unleash their inner Viking in style. Once players find a weapon or equipment, the visual can be equipped – provided the item is of the same category – in exchange for silver by visiting the blacksmith in Ravensthorpe.
To celebrate the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla community, players will receive Altair’s Outfit, the Yule Gear Set, cosmetics and 300 opals completely free. Players claim the rewards by going to the Animus Store.

Ostara is getting two more new content updates, including:
- Mastery Challenge: A second update adds a new game mode that builds on the core combat of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. A master arrives at the settlement and inspires Eivor to train and perfect challenges to become a master as well.
- Additional rewards
In Wrath of the Druids, available April 29, players travel to Ireland where they unravel the secrets behind an ancient cult of druids. Surrounded by Gaelic myths and folklore, players must fight their way across the Irish landscape to gather power under the Gaelic kings. The Wrath of the Druids expansion is part of the Season Pass, but can also be purchased separately.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is already available for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Amazon Luna, Windows PC through the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store, and as part of Ubisoft+, Ubisoft’s subscription service.
