Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – reindeer locations: Where to find three Reindeer Antlers for the A Mild Hunt quest.
Reindeer Antlers are something you are probably looking for at the beginning of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, as you are tasked with finding them during the A Mild Huntworld event that shows up quite early.
Reindeer are tricky to track down though – there are fewer roaming the Rygjafylke wilderness than you might initially expect – so we’ll explore some helpful ones below. Reindeer Antler Locations to find the three antlers you will need for the quest.

A Mild Hunt World Event begins in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and the Rewards
The A Mild Hunt World Event starts fairly early in the game when you reach your village of Fornburg.
Go to the back of the village – to the northeast – and you will see a woman sitting at the front of a house.
Talk to her, and she promises to give you some hunting tips if you complete a task for her: collect three Reindeer Antlers. If she doesn’t give you the assignment, talk to her again as the assignment is available quite early in the game.
Apparently the assignment is a lot more annoying than it looks, but knowing where to look makes it a lot easier.
Once you complete the quest, you’ll get a hint where to find a legendary beast to hunt: the Great Elk, found in the mountains between Fornburg and Stavenger.
Reindeer Antler locations explained – that’s how you get three Reindeer Antlers
You will get Reindeer Antlers by, you guessed it, hunting reindeer – only there is a catch, which is that not all reindeer drop antlers when you loot them. That means if you’re unlucky, hunt more than just three.
Here are some reliable locations where you can find reindeer to hunt. Remember, of course, it’s only worth hunting the ones with antlers. The females, without antlers, are simply seen as deer and will not drop a set – because of course they don’t have them.
Reindeer Locations – where you hunt reindeer for antlers in Rygjaflke
There are two locations near Valka’s Hut, which you need to get to early in the storyline and so can be easily reached by following the road along the coastline from Fornburg.
The first location is west of the cabin, among the trees. We found a reindeer here.
The second location is slightly more to the east, down a small hill to another clearing with a small cluster of trees. We found a lonely reindeer here, among some female deer.
Another location is south of the lake where you’ll find Bil’s Comb for the Comb of Champions world event. If you head northeast from Fornburg, it is close to a lake with waterfalls.
Another good location is due east of Fornburg, if you climb a bit to get to a forest above the first few cliffs. We found some of them there, but annoyingly, they’ll run off the edge of the map if you scare them. So you cannot reach them to get the antlers.
Tips for finding and hunting reindeer
Finally, here are some simple tips to keep in mind:
- You can find and track reindeer by using your raven. Press Up on the D-pad and then hold down the left trigger. Shop around for Leather symbols, and chances are they are reindeer. Either they are wolves or a polar bear, so watch out!
- Reindeer startle quite easily – so it can be tricky when they run, so crouch and crawl slowly towards them, getting a good shot with your bow. If you miss or run close to them, they will run, although you can still follow them if you tag them with your raven.
- Again, not all reindeer give you antlers, which is a bit annoying. To us it’s about 50/50, so you should probably find six.
- They do respawn, but it takes a while. So if you kill one and it doesn’t drop antlers, your best bet is to try some other locations, meditate, and start the same loop from one location to another. It is not clear exactly how long it takes for them to respawn, but we found that we had to meditate at least two or three times.
