The Asus Eee Pad Transformer has become on its own merits one of the most coveted tablets. It is a powerful device, as we could see in the analysis that Álvaro Cuesta is doing, and it also allows us connect an alphanumeric keyboard to use it as if it were a netbook.

Thanks to Asus Ibérica’s Twitter, the departure date and their prices in Spain. The tablet will be on sale from June 20th in large areas such as FNAC, El Corte Inglés and Media Markt at a price of 399 euros for the 16GB model without keyboard.

If we want it instead with keyboard we have the model of 16GB for 499 euros. The one of 32GB it has a price of 499 euros without keyboard and 599 with it. The loose keyboard will have a price of 150 euros so it is more important to buy it together with the tablet.

By price and by specifications it seems that the Asus Eee Pad Transformer will be the first tablet to compete to Apple’s iPad 2, at least in Spain. The price is very competitive and in terms of benefits, as we have already seen, it does not fall short. Hopefully the rest of the manufacturers take note of Asus’ move and put their tablets at similar prices to generate more competition.
