As simple and elegant in its design as it is silent in its presentation, this notebook from ASUS It contains many more interesting things than others that have made much more noise at this CES 2017 in Las Vegas. Many of us like equipment like this, discreet and light, without forgetting a minimum power to be able to do daily activities without problems.
No, it is not fair to compare it directly to the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, as this is a less demanding laptop than Lenovo’s, in which new technology has been introduced and can be configured to very high specifications. But we can play fetch lightest 14-inch laptop, thinner, and there the ASUS product has a lot to say.
A ThinkPad X1 Carbon weighs 1.14 kilos, this ASUS only weighs 1.04 kilos with the same screen size
How much does it weigh? Well, in the official specifications it puts 2.3 pounds, which in our interests is very a little more than a kilo.
That is nothing for a device that offers you a quite useful screen in size, with Full HD resolution. Like Lenovo’s laptop, this ASUS plays at cramming a 14-inch screen into the space normally occupied by a 13.3-inch screen.
That “ASUSPRO”That you see in the images corresponds to the name that the Taiwanese brand gives to its professional line, and which is called B9440, in case someone wants to look it up in more detail. I find it a shame that the brand does not know how to give more visibility to such interesting products, it could have looked for a better name.
Where are the drawbacks? Well, it does not seem that there are many, since the battery or the power have not received much damage. ASUS ensures that the autonomy of the equipment can reach up to 10 hours of life with a load, and in it there is room to place Core i7 processors of the seventh generation of Intel. They fit up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB in SSD.
The notebook is made of magnesium alloy, has a splash resistant keyboard and there is a fingerprint sensor integrated to enhance our security, it is not for nothing that it is part of the professional family of ASUS notebooks.
How much does one of these AsusPro B9440 cost? Well, in the United States it has a starting price of 999 dollars, and will be sold in May of this year. We will keep you informed about its international expansion.
