Black Ops 4 breaks digital sales records.
Not much of a surprise, but Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has some cool sales records! All details in this Night Watch with further news about the PS4 crash via messages, a ridiculous DualShock 4 controller, Diablo 3 Switch, Devil May Cry 5 and Shenmue.
PSN message exploit update
Hi there! It’s great that you’ve found the new Night Watch and to reward you, the Guard has another shitload of news for you, starting with an update on last weekend’s ‘PSN message exploit’. As you have no doubt heard, annoying messages are sent via the PlayStation Network, which cause your PS4 to crash. Sony had not yet responded to the situation, but is now aware of the problem.
And apparently this is not an easy fix as a whole new firmware update is on the way to fix the problem!
“We are aware of the situation and are planning a system software update to resolve this problem.”
According to smart guys, this is probably a so-called ‘buffer overflow’ exploit, which hackers could use to circumvent security. Sony therefore benefits from fixing this again as soon as possible. Other than that, it is annoying for the normal gamer, so bring on that firmware update!
Big Pimping PS4 controller
Money like water? Then the Guard has found the ultimate PS4 controller for you! You could of course have a custom controller made with a cool color or something, but if you really want to go over the top, you should take a look at this controller, from Brikk. This is the ‘Lux DualShock 4 controller’ with a layer of 24 carat gold and diamonds on the buttons!
Brikk offers 2 versions. With the Classic, only the PlayStation button is decorated with diamonds and with the Deluxe version all buttons are decorated with diamonds. The Classic is for sale for about 7,300 euros and the Deluxe for more than 12,000 euros. Even if the Guard had a bottomless pit full of money, this controller still wouldn’t be ordered, but taste is unquestionable.
Diablo 3 Switch
It won’t be long before Diablo 3 comes out for the Switch and Nintendo has announced that a special bundle will be released with a themed Switch. The bundle includes a Switch and Docking Station with Diablo 3 artwork, a special Diablo 3 carrying case and of course the game itself, in the form of a download code. Black Ops 4 breaks digital sales records
You will no doubt have noticed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has been released! As expected, it is again a great success when we look at the first sales figures and according to Activision the game even breaks a number of records. Especially the digital version is going crazy and Activision calls it their biggest digital release ever.
Exact numbers are not yet known, but Black Ops 4 has at least the following records:
- Biggest day one digital release in Activision history.
- Record for day one digital full game sales on PlayStation Store, globally.
- Best-selling Activision Xbox One digital game on day one, globally.
- Launch day PC digital sales more than doubled year on year.
It will come as no surprise to you that Rob Kostich, the general manager, is delighted. He says:
“We have shattered multiple digital day one sales records, and the number of people who connected online on day one to play has grown year on year. But probably the most important thing is that the community is having so much fun across Multiplayer, Zombies and Blackout. We are so incredibly thankful for the community’s trust and support. This is just the beginning, it’s going to be an incredible journey with Black Ops 4. ”
Have you bought Call of Duty: Black Ops 4? And was that also digital, or do you still prefer to go to the local game shop for your games?
Devil May Cry 5 feels good
De Wacht always has ‘good feeling’ when the Night Watch is written, but according to senior producer Michiteru Okabe, there is also ‘good feeling’ in Devil May Cry 5! Since the game was announced at E3, there has been a lot of hype and according to Okabe-san that has everything to do with the typical Devil May Cry style. He explains:
“In the beginning, one of the main characters, Nero, loses his right hand. He attaches the Devil Breaker to where his right hand was and sets off to battle the demons. With the help of his new partner, weapons craftswoman Nico, Nero takes down demons one after the other in a way that is not only stylish, but feels good. This ‘good feeling’ is a distinctive feature of
the Devil May Cry series. The exhilaration of using guns and swords to stylishly defeat demons, interwoven with the story of main characters Nero and Dante’s hidden pasts and crossed fans all over the world, leading the series to become a hit, with cumulative sales of 16 million units. ”
De Wacht was also quite enthusiastic about the first gameplay footage and Devil May Cry 5 has now been high on the wish list. The game is scheduled for release in March 2019 and will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Shenmue remake got dropped?
De Wacht closes this Night Watch with a special video of an unknown remake of Shenmue. Shenmue 1 and 2 were recently re-released in a remastered guise and it’s nothing short of fantastic that newcomers can still play the games, but what we didn’t really know is that a much better remake of Shenmue was in the works.
It is a bit vague why this remake was canceled and completely different remastered versions came out, but it probably just has to do with money again and in the end it was decided to scrap the ambitious remake and instead the fairly simple remastered versions. to develop and release. Eternal shame, but luckily we still have the images! Check out the Digital Foundry video below.
