Boss Key quits, Big Ben buys Cyanide and new Xbox One controller.

If there are no fewer than three news items in the headline, then you know what time it is. Laura Jenny has a fat, fresh, flabby Wait in store for you. What are you waiting for?!

Today is May 15th. Today in 1991, Édith Cresson became the first female prime minister of France and in 2008 California became the second state in the US to marry as gay. An exciting day and that also applies to this N8W8, it is rumbling in the games industry! Welcome, friends!

Boss Key is closing its doors

Unfortunately, this N8W8 does not start very positively. Rarely have we seen the outspoken Cliff Bleszinski tweet something so sad: the statement that says Boss Key Productions ceases to exist. The game studio made LawBreakers and Radical Heights, but had no success with either game. That’s remarkable, because Cliff did great things for Gears of War at Epic Games. Rest in peace, Boss Key.

Persona is booming

Persona 5 is a great game, and SEGA is proud to announce that the game has already been shipped 2.2 million times. Doing well. The RPG was released in Japan on September 15, 2016, and then came to the rest of the world on April 4, 2017. The game was also received very, very positively by our Samuel. You can read all about that in the review.

Is this the new Xbox One controller?

It has been leaking so much the last few days that you have an umbrella to avoid getting soaking wet. For example, the new Xbox One controller, which is huge square and flat and has two giant A and B keys. This is not an ordinary controller, but a special controller for people who are slightly less mobile. So you can use those giga buttons with your feet, if your hands are not able to hold a controller.

Will the Final Fantasy VII Remake be released in 2023?

While we haven’t heard from Square Enix yet, it looks like the Final Fantasy VII remake is far from finished. According to a transcript of a conversation between producer Yoshinori Kitase and development head Naoki Hamaguchi, the game won’t be released until 2023 during the franchise’s 35th anniversary. Oof.

And this is the full Rage 2 trailer

Yakuza studio is working on new IP

Ryu ga Gotoku Studio, according to pieces from SEGA, is currently working on an ‘as yet unannounced new title’ of the new IP category. Yes! Other new IPs in this are SEGA’s mobile game Kotodaman and VanillaWare’s 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. Ryu ga Gotoku Studio has worked on a new IP before, namely Binary Domain. That was not exactly a success, but Yakuza is so loved, there must be more beauty in it.

Big Ben buys Cyanide

“Cyanide in my Styrofoam cup”. It’s not just a phrase from one of the greatest songs ever made, the first word is a game studio. The French Cyanide has just been bought by Big Ben, which you probably know mainly from the game accessories. It’s a big thing for Big Ben, which has taken on a bigger role in Kylotonn Racing studio before. It means the step from just a publisher and distributor of games to also a developer of games. Cyanide has a few interesting licenses, namely Game of Thrones and Tour de France. Games like Pro Cycling Manager, Styx and The Council come from there.

New Overwatch event announced and a Legendary Edition

Blizzard Entertainment likes to earn a lot of money, but it also seems to enjoy making people happy. It is now doing that by celebrating Overwatch’s second anniversary with an event starting May 22 that will feature all previously released Brawl modes and a host of seasonal cosmetic items. There will also be a new Deathmatch map named Petra, a bunch of new character skins and dance emotes for Doomfist, Moria and Brigitte. There will be a digital-only Overwatch Legendary Edition for newbies and the game will be free to play from May 25 to 29. It goes on, folks!

The Fortnite Thanos event ends today

Okay, what you just said Wait was a little lie. Not everything will continue. Fortnite’s Infinity War event, for example, ends today, that funny one that even Josh Brolin himself has an opinion about. So, put that gauntlet on again, because that will be the last time … #the drama

Marvel’s Inhumans? Yes, that also stops

Yes boys and girls, more Marvel superhero stuff is coming to an end. Inhumans, the ABC TV series, has been canceled after eight episodes. It appears to be a very bad series, so there are probably not many people who are sorry about this news. Even our charming Wouter Marvel Brugge shrugged when your Wacht informed him. Fortunately, ABC still has a pretty okay Marvel series left, namely Agents of SHIELD.

Nice: Stardew Valley is coming to Vita this month

It’s comical, Stardew Valley with its chickens reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past. And it’s nice, because that game is coming to PS Vita this month. That’s that console that you probably have somewhere in your bedside table, and you really have to go and find that charger if you want to crank it up again. Still, it’s great that not everyone has forgotten Vita. By the way, if you already have Stardew Valley on the PlayStation 4, it works cross-buy. Nice on the farm, everyone!

Lois Lane actress Margot Kidder has passed away

She was 69 years old, Margot Kidder. The name might not mean much to you, but she is one of the women Lois Lane was allowed to play in a Superman series. She played the journalist in Superman movies of the 70s and 80s. You can also know her from The L-Word, in which she played Sandy Ziskin. Rest in peace, Margot.

Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show is super American and the biggest stars are coming. With his house band The Roots and a lot of Nintendo Labo instruments, Jimmy helps the pop singer play her song No Tears Left To Cry just after writing this N8W8. Here’s a sneak peek:

DidYouKnowGaming hangs on the outskirts of Prince of Persia
