PS5 players can customize how their controller works in-game, increasing or decreasing sensitivity, turning controller sounds on and off, and adjusting automatic movements. More customization here.
A fully immersive experience

There’s been a lot of talk about the immersive storytelling in Black Ops Cold War, but what’s next-gen sound like and how will the technological advancements
increase the experience:
o 3D Audio: Using the very latest 3D audio technology, Black Ops Cold War audio represents the latest next-generation audio, enabling better spatialization and directionality, including spatial in-game voice chat. This allows for unprecedented placement of 3D sound – not just in front of or behind the listener, but also above or below. Sony’s HRTF 3D audio also provides the most tactile combat experience yet in a Black Ops game, with customizable capabilities.

o Threat Priority Audio System: The new audio system dynamically prioritizes different sounds during a firefight, so the player can hear all the sounds need to be successful, and nothing they don’t.
o Physically modeled audio support: This system helps Treyarch and Raven sound designers provide accurate modeling of the world and help automate occlusion, reverb and decay into maps by replicating how sound waves actually move in complex spaces, helping the team during the game credibly audio can recreate environments.
Realistic lighting

The team used recorded world data for their lighting, reaction and clothing. The engine also supports true ambient lighting, so that the light reaches everywhere as it should. This combined with a perfectly rendered sky makes it a pleasure for the eyes.
Haptic Feedback and smooth gameplay
Players can take advantage of 120Hz support, which means less lag and a smoother gameplay experience. With HRTF 3D audio you get a unique experience in terms of sound, in addition, PS5 players get the haptic feedback via the new controller. The controller will vibrate and shake when you pull the trigger. All of this has been fine-tuned to fit the loadout perfectly.
