SANTA MONICA, CA. August 25, 2017. The highly anticipated Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer Private Beta is now live worldwide for PlayStation 4 (PS4) owners. Those who pre-ordered Call of Duty: WWII on PS4 can now start one of two test weekends, which will run until Monday, August 28. Private Beta participants will experience some of what Call of Duty: WWII multiplayer has to offer, including a set of maps recreating the most famous World War II locations, a new Divisions system and War mode. The Private Beta is an important test for the game and its servers, as a special system monitors and analyzes all parameters to best prepare the title for the world premiere on November 3.

“Bringing Call of Duty: WWII to life has been a huge honor, and we can’t wait for fans to start testing it during the Multiplayer Private Beta. The beta is a great opportunity to listen to players and work with the community to polish the game ahead of its launch in November,” said Michael Condrey, CEO and co-founder of Sledgehammer Games.
Glen Schofield, co-leader and co-founder of Sledgehammer Games adds, “While this is just a snippet of the full experience, we want players to have fun. We will take into account any feedback regarding both maps and brand new features like Divisions or War mode, which will also be available for testing. We hope fans will have as much fun playing this title as we did creating it.”

The Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer Private Beta will deliver a small slice of the full multiplayer experience for everyone involved, including Divisions, a revamped version of the class system. Divisions allow players to define their fighting style by selecting one of five historic WWII divisions, each with their own training missions and special abilities. While Divisions are still being polished, the Private Beta will offer an introduction to the five factions available in the game.
Throughout both weekends, Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer Private Beta participants will have access to multiplayer maps showing the individual fights of history’s greatest conflict, designed to match the dynamic combat Call of Duty players know and love. In addition, users will have the opportunity to test the brand new War Mode, a cooperative gameplay model developed in collaboration with Raven Software. More awaits in the final product, including the General Staff, esports gameplay mechanics, Supply Drops, and more maps and modes not available during the Private Beta.

Fans will also have the opportunity to join the Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer Private Beta during the second weekend of testing, when players pre-ordering Call of Duty: WWII on PS4 will be joined by Xbox One users. The second weekend of the Private Beta begins on Friday, September 1 and ends on Monday, September 4. Players who participate in the beta during any weekend will receive a special multiplayer goodie pack, including a unique helmet, calling card, and emblem. During both rounds of the Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer Private Beta, Sledgehammer Games will be collecting player feedback to fine-tune the gameplay mechanics, optimize balance, and streamline production in the time remaining to the November launch. All Private Beta participants will have the opportunity to share their feedback and interact with the developers through multiple means such as surveys and an online forum, and will have the opportunity to receive feedback through Sledgehammer Games blog posts.

Launching on November 3, Call of Duty: WWII marks the great return of the Call of Duty series to history’s most important military conflict. Players will be drawn into combat in three modes: Single Player Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies Scenario. The single player mode will take players straight to Europe, where they will be drawn into a completely new story set in the most famous locations during World War II. Multiplayer is a return to the roots of the series and the combat system that defined the brand, with dynamic skirmishes and an iconic arsenal of weapons and equipment. The final mode, Zombies, is a scary new co-op scenario featuring a spooky story, dark and twisted, that involves unleashing an army of undead
