If you wonder why the Guard links to photos of the actresses and not put them in this article: that could result in a hefty fine for SamaGame. Something with user rights and stuff. But click on the links and you can see if the ladies are a bit like the roles they are assigned!

Nintendo has added three new NES games to the NES channel. This channel is only accessible to people who have a subscription to Switch Online. The company previously promised to add games every month and now, a month after launch, it is doing just that.

These are NES Open Tournament Golf, a great golf game, Solomon’s Key, an exciting action platform with magic, and Super Dodge Ball, in which you play a solid game of dodgeball.

Nintendo also added a ROM hack of the original The Legend of Zelda, called ‘SP’, as a bonus. In this version of the classic you get access to all kinds of items from the start that you only get much later in the normal version. So you start with 255 Rupees, 9 keys and eight bombs. Useful! The original version of The Legend of Zelda will also remain available.

Forza Horizon 4 already has more than two million players after a week

Microsoft is doing good business with the Forza franchise. The new installment, Forza Horizon 4, was released on Xbox One and PC last week and now has more than two million players. That is certainly impressive for a racing game, a genre that is nowhere near as big as many other games. Although it will help that the game is also on Xbox Game Pass. That is also what players are of course.

Some other statistics have also been released. For example, all players have already driven more than 822.7 million miles and bought 74.4 million cars. Over 4.6 million hours of gameplay from the game has been watched on channels like YouTube, Twitch and Mixer. Keep on tearing, Forza!

No Assassin’s Creed has sold as well on this generation of consoles as Odyssey

And the good news around game sales just keeps going, because Ubisoft also has something to celebrate. While exact sales numbers for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey aren’t out yet, no AC game has sold that well this generation in its first week of release. And a lot of AC games have already appeared on this generation of consoles!

Geoffroy Sardin, the senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft, is logically very pleased: “We are extremely proud of what the team has achieved with Odyssey and are honored by the wonderful response from critics and players.” Yes, Wouter was also quite positive. He even called it the most fun Assassin’s Creed since Black Flag! The game is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

GoldenEye 007’s single player is getting an unofficial remake

3D artist Ben Colclough is on his own making a new version of the single player campaign of N64 classic GoldenEye 007. He does that in Unreal Engine 4, so that looks a bit better than the original. The project is called GoldenEye 25, as it should be finished in 2022, which will be exactly 25 years since the original game came out.

Everyone is always full of praise for GoldenEye’s multiplayer (and rightly so), but Colclough especially liked the game’s single player. Hence the focus on that aspect of the game. Whether the game will ever be released remains to be seen. The game belonged to Rare, which now belongs to Microsoft, while Activision owned the rights to James Bond games for a while. De Wacht can imagine that all kinds of companies will make a difficult effort if Colclough wants to put its GoldenEye 25 on the internet. But who knows!

Below you can see some early gameplay. It is clearly still work in progress, but it immediately made De Wacht nostalgic.

A fair amount of trailers

De Wacht is holding back and has not collected too many new trailers, but there is still some good stuff in between. Below you will find images of:

  • Resident Evil 2 Remake
  • Just Cause 4
  • Etrian Odyssey Nexus (coming to 3DS in February 2019)
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (Blackout Mode)

No Halo Infinite at X018 event

It cannot be all good news. Halo Infinite will not be attending X018, the previously announced Xbox event to be held in Mexico City in November. Fans can expect various new announcements at this event, but there is no new info about Infinity.

On Twitter, someone asked if more information is on the way about the highly anticipated new Halo game on X018, but community director Brian Jerrard quickly shattered that dream. Then wait for E3 2019?

Yo-kai Watch 4 postponed to Spring 2019

If the Guard does bring bad news after all, it will go on for a while. Yo-kai Watch 4, the first game in the franchise to release on Nintendo Switch, will no longer be released this winter. Level-5 has postponed the game to spring 2019. In Japan, that is, when the game will come to the west is not yet known at all. Nor is the reason why the game has been postponed.

In Yo-kai Watch, players can choose between three periods: Keita’s main timeline, the Shadowside thirty years later, and a period in the 1960s. Fans of the series still have Yo-kai Watch 3 to look forward to. That 3DS game has been out in Japan for a while, but will be out in Europe this winter.

Is there a Bully 2 in the making?

The Night Watch ends with a heavy rumor. Rockstar Intel reports that a casting director named Jessica Jefferies’ casting calls’ (aka job vacancies for motion capture actors) have been released for Bully 2. There are seven casting calls for a ‘new unannounced game from a major UK developer to be shot in Pinewood Studios’. For the casting calls mainly young people and teenagers are asked.

The script is said to contain “light violence and some swear words.” There would also be a search for actors who could play professors for a university. Pinewood Studios is more commonly used by large studios. The website reports that they have reasons to believe that it is about Rockstar, and when you say Rockstar and young actors and a school setting, you naturally soon think of Bully 2. Would it finally be so far after Red Dead Redemption? 2?

With that news, the Guard closes his laptop and crawls into bed. You are greeted!
