CoD: Warzone – Raven, has already banned over 500,000 players

Raven Software is again guillotining a number of cheaters who play the game, and now the total number of players banned in CoD: Warzone has passed 500,000 – or half a million.

Cheats are nothing new to Warzone. Since the beginning of Warzone, there were already cheaters using various mechanisms to excel in Battle Royale. Who never died for hackers to throw the first concussion bucks!

Consequently, Raven Software has been fighting these hackers and cheaters since the game aired.

Nevertheless, in February, we heard that over 300,000 players had been banned for cheating, and then, in April, we heard the studio lament that hackers were “ruining some of the best work in the studio”, wrong they weren’t, as it’s really frustrating. die for a player who might not have half the skill of some without the famous little program.

Over the weekend, in another attack on the steady stream of cheaters, Raven banned another wave of players. “Banned over 30,000 malicious accounts in Call of Duty yesterday,” said the developer on May 14, “leading us to over half a million banned accounts in #Warzone.” Yes.

It’s fair to say that the studio is doing a lot to stem the tide of dishonorable players in the game, by way of clarification the developer has formed a dedicated enforcement team to catch the cheaters.

Community input and a dedicated security team are essential to managing the servers, but with over 100 million players, it will always be difficult to catch all the bad apples in the game.

And from there comes the famous Poison Tree Fruit Theory, where a dirty, illicit, rotten action contaminates all other good fruits, that is, if a cheating player is caught playing and nothing happens, the other good honest players will feel wronged and become cheaters. Hence the extreme importance of surveillance in FPS games that are so competitive.

The studio outlined its policy on cheaters in great detail, thanks to a blog post published in April. The blog describes a very strict punishment for repeat offenders, where the studio warns:

“Some asked if we issued hardware bans. We issue hardware bans against repeat or serial cheaters. This is an important part of our effort to fight repeat offenders.”

The company also warned that its security research team published a report on malware hidden as a “dropper” in a fake cheat that was being offered for sale, and you can read more about it here.

Warzone’s latest patch nerfed AMAX, FARA, Streetsweeper and Buffou to PPSh-41.
