Counter-Strike player uses hacks during tournament.

A professional Counter-Strike player caught red-handed, a new bug in Breath of the Wild makes Link fly as fast as an F-16 and Elon Musk removes Fortnite. This and more in the WKNDW8 of October 21, 2018!

Counter-Strike pro caught red handed

Well. You got “stupid” and you’re “so stupid that you think it’s a good idea to use hacks in a tournament where thousands of eyes are on you”.

OpTic India player Nikhil “Forsaken” Kumawat thought he could get away with this, but after some suspicious gameplay, his computer was inspected. When the admin subsequently found his hack, he quickly tried to delete the files – which he ultimately failed to do.

Funnily enough, this wasn’t the first time Nikhil “Forsaken” Kumawat has been caught for cheating. In 2017, he had also been banned from ESL tournaments for two years after receiving a Valve Anti-Cheat ban, although that sentence was eventually changed to just 6 months.

The cheater used an aimbot program with which he could fix his aim on other players. The team has been disqualified, Forsaken has been expelled from the team, but that was not all. Not much later OpTic Gaming dropped the entire India branch of their esports teams.

New Bug in Breath of the Wild gives Link a massive speed boost

A Breath of The Wild speedrunner named Zants has found a new bug that allows the player to be launched very hard. He does this by jumping on top of an enemy while tightening his bow and then pulling out his shield.

The moment you hit the enemy, Link is blasted into the air at a considerable number of kilometers per hour. In fact, it goes so fast that the game pauses for a few seconds to load the new area. Check it in action here:

Wargroove postponed to early 2019

Wargoove, the Advance Wars-esque turn-based tactical game, has been delayed from the end of 2018 to the first quarter of 2019. According to publisher Chucklefish, this was done to give developers time to create more content so that the entire package is more attractive during the launch.

Splash Damage ceases development of Dirty Bomb

Developer Splash Damage has announced they will no longer update their team-based shooter. According to the blog on the official website, it was no longer financially justifiable. If you bought the All Merc Pack DLC before January 31, 2019, you can at least get a refund for it – “the money you spent will go back in your Steam wallet and the unlocked Mercs will remain in your account”.

The team will continue to fix bugs for the next few weeks, but then it’s over. The servers will remain open as long as there are still enough players and simple events will still be held, such as a login bonus.

Luke Cage season 3 canceled

Marvel’s Netflix series is doing great! Earlier you could read on the site that Iron Fist was canceled, but today it’s Luke Cage’s turn. The cause of this is probably a creative conflict between Netflix and Marvel, after which the deal for season 3 broke down. Marvel was already writing the 3rd season and had almost finished half of the episodes there.

Of course, there is now speculation that Iron Fist and Luke Cage could continue together in a “Heroes for Hire” series, but we have no official news of that yet. Iron Fist actor Finn Jones has posted a picture of Luke and Danny on his Instagram, but that of course says nothing. People also wonder whether these series can perhaps be continued on Disney’s own new streaming service. We will see!

MediEvil remake news about “a week or two”

After nearly a year of radio silence, Sony’s social media director, Sid Shuman, told a PlayStation Blogcast that we’ll be getting news soon about the remake of MediEvil, the PS1 classic. In a future Blogcast with Shawn Layden there will be a “big update” for the game.

We hadn’t heard about the game for nearly a year since it was revealed on PSX 2017, so it’s good to know it’s still in production.

It’s Halloween in Team Fortress 2

Is there anyone else here playing this game, or has everyone switched to Overwatch by now? This is the tenth year that TF2 has the “Scream Fortress” event, now called “Scream Fortress X”. A few new community maps, a challenge here and there and some new cosmetics to unlock … The Guard itself is not there to jump, but it is still impressive that the game has been able to keep it up for so long.

New Kingdom Hearts III screenshots

Square Enix released some screenshots for Kingdom Hearts 3. Twilight Town with Sora and friends and Olympus Coliseum with hercules, Meg, Zeus and Hades. Hype!

That was him again for this WeekendWacht. Later!
