Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be far from returning to PS Store

THE CD Project Red revealed its earnings for the quarter ended March 31, 2021, and it was a somewhat bleak report for the developer. Profits were down 65% from the previous year as sales of cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 have decreased and more investments were needed to put the first into operation after a disastrous launch.

During their conference call, CDPR provided a short update on Cyberpunk’s return to the PlayStation Store. Previously, they simply said it was Sony’s decision, making it look like it could happen at any time. Now, they’ve made it clear that there are definite metrics that need to be worked out before the game can return to the PlayStation, and it looks like CDPR is still far from catching up.

I can’t delve into the set of metrics or how the conversation is progressing, this has to be at PlayStation’s discretion of ourselves, but yeah, there’s some kind of metric, let’s put it like this. there is a process, we are in the middle of this process and there are conversations going on. The decision will be announced when it is ready to be announced.

CDPR has provided a rough graph showing the overall decline in Cyberpunk 2077 crashes as various patches and hotfixes have been released, but it’s clear that the game still has a long way to go.

So far the PlayStation 5 has eight games from first-party studios (and will receive another one on June 11, with Ratchet & Clank: A Dimension Apart).
