Cyberpunk 2077 – the developers talked a little bit about game styles.

It’s up to us to steal a mission by stealthy, hacking, confusing, or simply with a brutal grunt in our hands.

Yesterday we saw a good few minutes of brand new gameplay from Cyberpunk 2077 coming in April, in which the developers talked a bit about how we will be able to complete the quests. There have been rumors in the past that we can put together our character in essentially any way, but the same will be true of our style of play.

Of the two styles seen in the gameplay video, Solo was introduced for the first time. The name is eloquent, because if we take our character in this direction, we will essentially stand alone against the world after proper development. The focus here is really on brute force, we can turn anything into our weapon, tear machine gun racks out of thorns, use people as live shields, so we wade through all obstacles in terminator mode, leaving mounds of corpses behind. Here, too, you can store as a Strong Solo as a bulldozer, or as a Fast Solo with more agile moves with your opponents.

If we approached the mission in a slightly more sophisticated way, we as a Netrunner can cut into the thick of events. In Cyberpunk 2077, everyone is connected to some system, so a clever enough hacker can wreak havoc without even getting his hands dirty in the process. We can infiltrate environmental objects, vending machines, and turrets to cause diversion, turn practicing robots against their masters, or even knock someone out using their exercise machine. However, if we don’t just want to stealth, we can also have some action as Netrunners, because with the help of a so-called nanowire we can even break our opponents’ implants to fight next to us.

Although we didn’t see it in the video, the developers also talked about a third specialization, Techie. He commands a spider-like robot capable of turning environmental objects to our advantage, causing malfunctions in certain structures, or simply dropping something heavy enough on the heads of our opponents while they are busy with us.

Of course, there is a transition between these styles, so it’s up to us to bring out the most lethal mix of these abilities. With every little detail that comes to light, April 16th seems farther away, when we can finally immerse ourselves in the underworld of Night City.

Which style do you prefer the most?
