Did Microsoft acquire Silent Hill, Metal Gear, Castlevania and all Konami IPs? It smells wrong but everyone talks about it.

Obviously, we don’t know if this rumor is in fact unwanted, but the stench of counterfeiting is very strong for a variety of reasons. We decided to talk about it anyway but it’s a rumor that in terms of credibility it’s probably just a step up from an anonymous post on 4Chan. Obviously, even those who write to you can be wrong, but that is our (my) opinion.

Microsoft has apparently acquired all Konami IPs, including sacred gaming monsters like Metal Gear, Silent Hill, and Castlevania. This is a rumor in some respects similar to that indicated by Sony ready for the “only” acquisition of Silent Hill, Castlevania and Metal Gear and which was closely linked to a much more credible rumor centered solely on Silent Hill.

If the Silent Hill rumor was based on a site and an insider would be credible, the Microsoft one is more based on a post on Reddit and then reported by an alleged insider. The Reddit post then came from a leak shared on Pastebin eight days before the rumors about Silent Hill and Sony. Here is the text of the leak which does not refer to a specific IP but to the entire Konami catalog

Did Microsoft acquire Silent Hill, Metal Gear, Castlevania and all Konami IPs? It smells wrong but everyone talks about it

“Tonight, Microsoft will complete the purchase of the entire Konami game catalog. The deal is so expensive that Microsoft will fund a new factory where Konami wants to focus on game research and development. Microsoft will have to continue to pay royalties on all games Konami initially released, including future remasters, only new games created from scratch will be fully profitable for Microsoft.

“Konami will also retain the right to create new gaming material based on the games they have released in the past. In the deal, Microsoft will be able to select a team from among potentially laid-off employees after the sale to found a studio in Chou Konami will host Xbox Games Studios Tokyo in its offices for 12 to 18 months while Microsoft waits for Microsoft to build or organize its headquarters.  »

Did Microsoft acquire Silent Hill, Metal Gear, Castlevania and all Konami IPs? It smells wrong but everyone talks about it

It is the rumor which does not convince us at all but which undoubtedly knows how to intrigue. Konami has intervened in recent days with an official statement which pointed out that the recent rumors were not true but this statement only referred to rumors regarding Sony and Silent Hill or even those which have Microsoft as the protagonist? This aspect is not clear.

Perhaps it was the announcement of the E3 bomb. Guess what is guesswork, but if someone really decides to acquire all Konami IPs, we’d be surprised to say the least. What do you think? Do you agree with us on the stench of the fake or do you consider the rumor as much as possible ?.
