Facebook has announced its next step in the world of video games after catapulting free-to-play games from the social network, aspiring to be a rival to Twitch in streaming games or acquiring Oculus to promote virtual reality. The time has come to enter the race for the cloud game.
Available from the application Facebook or the browser, the idea is to offer a catalog of streaming games which will start for free with free-to-play mobile titles and it will expand from there in a future that they have not wanted to specify dates.
To the first, Asphalt 9: Legends, Mobile Legends: Adventure, PGA TOUR Golf Shootout and Solitaire: Arthur’s Tale, more titles of that style will be added with ports of games already seen in Android. After that will come the infrastructure and systems improvements that allow us to offer more types of games.
The key to the system, beyond how much it can grow or offer in the future, is the possibility of converting the interactive ads that we have been seeing so far in certain publications in a direct click to the game without downloading it.
For their entry into this new business market, they will have several partners such as 2K Games, FunPlus, Gameloft, Glu Mobile, Gram Games, Rovio and Wildlife Studios, together with those who propose to promote the catalog of the service in order to 2021.
His intention is to continue including more games with ads or in-app purchases, depending on the preferences of the developer, but it is unknown what plans they have for other types of titles.
