FIFA 21 improved for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S – no changes for PC.
IN BRIEF:
- PC owners will not be able to enjoy better graphics in FIF 21 due to its upcoming premiere on next-gen consoles;
- this is related to the fact that Electronic Arts does not want to increase the minimum hardware requirements, and it would be forced to do so, taking into account the planned changes in the gameplay and visual layer;
- The developers designed the new version of FIF-y 21 to take full advantage of the DualSense controller.
EA shared via SamaGame and PlayStation.Blog the news implemented in the FIF-21 version for new-generation consoles (especially PlayStation 5). However, they do not apply to PCs – they cannot count on any significant update of the content. What is this caused? EA Executive Producer Aaron McHardy has announced that it’s about keeping the game’s current minimum hardware requirements. Their change was supposed to be inevitable, if the company decided to include some graphical improvements also on the PC.
When we decided what generation to include in the PC version of the game, we looked primarily at the capabilities of our fans’ hardware.

So we had information that gave us to understand the power of individual computers. We came to the conclusion that if we wanted to transfer a new generation game to them, we would raise its minimum hardware requirements to a level that would prevent many people from playing.
Therefore, we decided to make the PC version of FIF-y 21 retain the properties suitable for the older generation – this allows us to leave the door open to more players and maintain the desired inclusiveness – Aaron McHardy for SamaGame.

Some fans may be disappointed with this fact, but people with worse computers will certainly appreciate Electronic Arts’ gesture. The company finally told a bit more about the planned changes, the ones that use the revolutionary DualSense controller technology are especially impressive. For example, the haptic system has been thought of – it will react to ball hits (the pad will vibrate in a different place, depending on which leg you kick the ball). In addition, adaptive triggers will resist if our players feel tired on the pitch.
When it comes to graphics, EA primarily advertises the new version of FIF-y 21 with a special lighting system called LiveLight Rendering. It will beautify, among others, stadiums and players, focusing on more accurate environmental effects and facial details (which we will be able to admire thanks to the new option of setting the camera in relation to the turf). The developers also decided to design further animations related to the celebrations of players and the audience after scoring a goal, as well as special scenes in the stands before the start of each match. The contact of players with the ball is also supposed to be much more realistic, which will supposedly make dribbling more comfortable.

FIFA 21 will be available on PS5 and XSX / S on December 4, 2020. Owners of this game on PS4 and XONE will be able to upgrade it completely for free to the version for next-gen consoles, if they decide to use the “Two in One” option prepared by EA, which you can read about here.
