FIRST DETAILS OF FINAL FANTASY XIV ONLINE PATCH 5.4 ANNOUNCEMENT AND ITS RELEASE DATE.
SQUARE ENIX today unveiled new details on FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Patch 5.4 during the latest Live Producer Letter broadcast. Patch 5.4, “Futures Rewritten”, will be released in early December 2020 and will include new content for the acclaimed Shadowbringers expansion.
In addition, producer and director Naoki Yoshida has announced that he plans to make the PlayStation 4 version of FINAL FANTASY XIV compatible with PlayStation 5. Players will be able to use the PS4 Pro display settings and PlayStation 5 hardware to ensure fast loading times. .
The December 5.4 patch includes a host of updates and new content for adventurers of all types of playstyles:
New Main Stage Missions: Following the grand finale of the Shadowbringers story in Patch 5.3, players will embark on a new adventure.
New Raid Dungeon: Eden’s Promise – The third chapter in the 8-player Eden raid series brings new challenging battles on normal and wild difficulty.
Updates in Chronicles of a New Era – The Sorrow of Werlyt: The new chapter of the quest line “The Sorrow of Werlyt” will introduce the Emerald Weapon.
New Challenge: Emerald Weapon: Players will be able to take on the Emerald Weapon on normal and extreme difficulty.
New Dungeon: Matoya’s Relict – Players can take on this new challenge alongside fellow adventurers or a group of non-playable characters using the Trust system.
New Unreal Trial: Players above level 80 will face the next empowered version of one of the primordials in Patch 5.4, which will offer a new challenge and the opportunity to get exclusive prizes.
Blue Mage Update: This limited profession will receive a number of updates, including an increase to the maximum level, new blue magic to learn from enemies, new class-specific equipment, and additions to the Blue Mage Journal.
New “Explorer Mode” – This new game mode will allow players to navigate through Shadowbringers dungeons without encountering enemies in order to take photos. Players will also be able to summon both mounts and minions in dungeons and use this mode to take better photos.
Instruments update: violin has been included among playable instruments.
Triple Triad Updates: In addition to the clash rules review and UI improvements, there will be new limited-time tournaments, which can also be found through the Task Finder.
Ishgard Restoration Update: The fourth and final phase of the restoration of the Holy See of Ishgard begins.
“Save the Queen” Update – New content for large-scale battles and the ability to further upgrade Resistance weapons in the next chapter of this part-split adventure written by acclaimed video game designer Yasumi Matsuno (FINAL FANTASY Tactics, FINAL FANTASY XII).
Tweaks to PvE and PvP actions, Ocean Fishing and Doman Mahjong updates, Treasure Hunt Dungeon updates, new UI skins, and more.
In addition, producer and director Naoki Yoshida has confirmed the release for October 13 of patch 5.35, which includes the last chapter of the “Save the Queen” questline, with a story written by acclaimed video game designer Yasumi Matsuno. The patch also introduces new content from the battle on the southern front of Bozja, a new area to explore in which the Bozja resistance has started Operation Eagle’s Nest to try and take back Fortress Alermuc from the empire. Players will be able to upgrade the powerful weapons they obtained in the first chapter of this series of missions by participating in various game content, such as the new Bozja South Front.
