Fortnite is officially in the Marvel universe with Thor against … Bananita and other ‘skins’.
The crossover Marvel is Fortnite landed in the game universe. Thor’s arrival on the battle royale island was also sanctioned by the publication of the comic dedicated to the event, in which a group of heroes joined the fight against the pending threat of Galactus. However, those comics aren’t just a fun link, but have actually been confirmed as a canonical story by Marvel itself.
Marvel’s latest collaboration with Epic Games featured a comic by current Thor writer Donny Cates, with artwork by Jay Leisten and colors by Frank D’Armata. The comic took place in Thor’s current story arc, which sees the God of Thunder become the new herald of Galactus in an attempt to stop Black Winter.
With Thor needing to find planets that Galactus can feed on, the comic catapulted Thor to Fortnite Island before the World Eater arrives in an attempt to warn them. Thor brought a few friends with him, including Storm, Rocket Raccoon, and Captain America. The arc of Chapter 2, Part 4 has been renamed as the “War of the Nexus”. Below you can take a look at the Twitter thread that collects all the comics.

Marvel recently announced that they will be making several covers for the Fortnite-Marvel crossover, which is a brilliant way to attract young readers who may not be familiar with comics.
