PC players should consider honing their hunting skills now as Capcom today confirmed the critically acclaimed Monster Hunter World: Iceborne for PC and will be available on Steam from January 9, 2020. The massive expansion, currently available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, builds on every aspect of Capcom’s best-selling Monster Hunter, with a massive amount of new content, including the largest region in the game to date, a multitude of new monsters for hunters to challenges, new gameplay options and more.

The PC version of Iceborne includes features such as a high-resolution texture pack, customizable graphics settings, and DirectX 12 support. In addition, mouse and keyboard controls have been revamped across the board to better suit the new actions and capabilities on PC. More information about the PC version can be found on the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne website.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne lets players explore the newly discovered Hoarfrost Reach, a snow-covered location that gradually expands with the story and is home to the mysterious new Elder Dragon, Velkhana. To help hunters on their journey, new gameplay features have been added, including the new Clutch Claw mechanic and updates to all 14 weapon types that provide additional combat options. Other new “series first” gameplay features include balanced two-player difficulty, the ability to ride small monsters. The expansion also introduces a new higher difficulty level called Master Rank. Hunters must have completed the main story in Monster Hunter: World through Hunter Rank 16 to access Master Rank and all the new Iceborne story and quests.

As with previous iterations, Iceborne includes robust free post-launch support with the first title update for PC scheduled for early February. This includes the addition of Rajang. March continues with a second title update featuring a new monster for PC. Title updates for PC are scheduled to be released concurrently with the console schedule in the future, with more details to be shared at a later date.

Several pre-order options are now available for new and returning PC players, with an exclusive Yukumo Series tiered armor set bonus offered for those who pre-order early. For existing owners, the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion is available as digital DLC for $39.99. A Digital Deluxe version containing both the expansion and a Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Deluxe Kit DLC of cosmetic items is €49.99. For newcomers, the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Master Edition containing both the main game and the Iceborne expansion will be available digitally at launch for $59.99. The Monster Hunter: World base game is required to play Iceborne.
