Gameforge is expanding its portfolio with the pixel platformer “Tiny Thor”, the RPG “Clicker Guardians” and the dark fantasy roguelite “Crimson Dawn”.
Gameforge, the leading Western provider of popular MMOs, today announced the creation of a new division, IndieForge, and plans to release three single-player games later this year: Tiny Thor, Clicker Guardians and Crimson Dawn. IndieForge is a new Gameforge initiative aimed at promoting the growth and success of indie studios worldwide. As part of Gameforge’s 20th anniversary, starting in 2023, the company is making its decades of experience and expertise available to indie development teams to give them an edge over the competition. More information about IndieForge can be found below.
Under the IndieForge banner, this year Gameforge is releasing the jump’n’run game “Tiny Thor”, the casual RPG “Clicker Guardians” and the Vampire Survivors-style “Crimson Dawn”.
About Tiny Thor

In the challenging retro platformer Tiny Thor from the German indie development studio Asylum Square you embody the powerful but still young Nordic god of thunder. Unleash the power of the ricocheting hammer, Mjolnir, on your adventure in Asgard and take down your foes with precise throws.
In over 30 lovingly designed levels you face powerful bosses and solve tricky environmental puzzles. The experienced pixel artist Henk Nieborg (Spyro: A Hero’s Tail, Contra 4, Shantae series) is responsible for the pretty 16-bit graphics, the catchy soundtrack was penned by the composer Chris Hülsbeck (Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, turrican). Regular upgrades open up new possibilities for you, and all your skills are required in the unlockable challenge levels.

“We are very pleased to be part of Gameforge’s IndieForge initiative, as small development studios often have to overcome major hurdles when releasing their games,” says Jochen Heizmann, founder of Asylum Square. “The partnership with a major player in the industry enables us to make this great indie game, in which our team of six has put so much heart and soul into the last four years, accessible to a broader audience.”
An updated demo is now available for free on Steam in German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese and Japanese. Hammer Kid, the prototype on which Tiny Thor’s gameplay is based, will be released in March 2023 and will receive new challenge levels.

Tiny Thor tells the story of a little hero with big responsibilities (and a magic hammer). It will be released in Q2 2023 and will then be available on the Epic Game Store and Steam for Windows PC, Mac and Linux as well as for Nintendo Switch.

With IndieForge, Gameforge wants to build on the successes of the past year, in which the titles Trigon: Space Story and I See Red were released as the first steps in the field of indie single-player games. In addition, with the new initiative, Gameforge is daring to venture into the console sector for the first time, because Tiny Thor will also swing the hammer on the Nintendo Switch!
“2023 is going to be an incredibly exciting year for Gameforge, and we’re excited to herald it by announcing IndieForge,” said Noemi Feller, Vice President of Products at Gameforge. “Following our initial foray into indie with the successful releases of Trigon: Space Story and I See Red last year, IndieForge now gives us the opportunity to expand our influence in the sector, collaborating with talented development teams and brand new players to offer exciting gaming experiences.”
“We are very happy with the first studios working with us and are proud of the titles they are contributing to our new IndieForge brand,” says Peter Stein, Director of Business Development at Gameforge. “Developing good games is no easy task, even under the best conditions, but our partners and we are united by the mission to bring great experiences to players. Of course we are entrepreneurs, but above all we are die-hard gamers. We don’t care about a specific genre or current trends, we care about great games.”
More information about these games, as well as a new, ambitious title from a Canadian studio, will be released soon.
