gamescom 2022: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord.

As part of gamescom, we were guests at TaleWorlds Entertainment and watched exclusive gameplay for Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord on Xbox One X.

After speaking with the developer, we are optimistic about the release for the next-gen consoles in October this year. At least on the Xbox, the game made a very good impression on me. On the PC, the game is still in Early Access on Steam, but it’s still an absolute hit before it will probably transition to a full release with the console release.

As part of gamescom, the developer and publisher spoke up in a message that contained all the necessary information that you should know before the official release in October.

The currently available early access version for the PC will transition to the full release at the same time as the console launch. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord release trailer:

“These two years have been a long and difficult journey,” said Armagan Yavuz, CEO of TaleWorlds Entertainment. “Developing a multi-platform game as massive and complex as Bannerlord in the midst of a pandemic is no easy task – and I’m so incredibly proud of our team for the tireless, brilliant work. Despite the challenges, it was also a rewarding process: we found many synergies between the consoles and the PC that we didn’t initially expect, synergies that made the game grow and become better than it would have been under other conditions. We’re excited to put the game in the hands of our amazing community that has supported us since Warband on consoles.”

Gamescom visitors can try out Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord both in the Entertainment Area in Hall 9, at Stand 22 and in the Business Area.

About Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

Bannerlord is the sequel to Mount & Blade: Warband, one of the most successful and influential role-playing games of recent years. Mount & Blade was particularly praised for its deep gameplay, which combines the genres of action, RPG and strategy in a sandbox world where each player creates their own story on the fictional continent of Calradia.

The successor is designed as a prequel to Warband and starts 200 years before the Calradia that players know from the predecessor. Calradia stands on the brink of collapse – multiple factions fight for control of the ruins of the ancient empire that once dominated the entire continent. Before their very eyes, other factions are attempting to use this chaos to seize power.

The PC version of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord was released into Early Access in March 2020 to great acclaim, and has since received dozens of content updates that have made it an even bigger and more challenging game. As the official release draws closer, TaleWorlds Entertainments is showing the console version of Bannerlord that players have been waiting for for the first time at gamescom 2022.
