For comic book fans, Christmas has come earlier this year, as they can also meet Spider-Man and Aquaman in cinemas this week, but those who don’t like either need not worry, there are other types of movies as well.
Although the focus is currently on Aquaman and Spider-Man anyway, it’s worth paying attention to the curiosities of the past week. Examples include a couple of fans re-enacting Captain Marvel’s trailer, Revenge Breaker: First Trailer of the Endgame, Bond’s 25 cast is formed, Disney’s most successful year may be 2019 and Alita: The Angel of the Fight about their experiences.
Not only were we released with news and previews last week. Most importantly, after a long wait, Revenge 4, or Revenge: The End Trailer, has finally arrived (which has already been analyzed if you’re curious about all the details and speculation):
The second featured video can be linked to the sequel to Godzilla, in which our favorite ancestor lizard gets into trouble with several opponents, plus there are some among them who tickle in size.
While the Avengers prepare to fight back, keep an eye out for the other superheroes:
Spiderman: Head to the Poker Universe! (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse)
In the latest special-style Spiderman movie, it’s not Peter Parker (Jake Johnson) but Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) who is the star who needs to learn what to do with his new abilities, and Peter helps him with that. But the saving of the world is also torn around their necks. In addition to them, mesh weavers from parallel universes such as Noir Spider-Man (Nicolas Cage), Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), Póksonka (John Mulaney) and Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn), who controls the SP // dr robot, are also emerging. Criticism from SamaGame and Puliwood has also made Sony Pictures ’animated film a must-see, so we recommend it the most this week.
(Curiosity: 140 animation professionals worked on the film’s special visuals. None of Sony Pictures Animation’s films have worked before.)
Aquaman
After making his debut in the League of Truth, the DC bachelor got his own film directed by the horror-savvy James Wan (Among the Demons, Insidious, Deadly Pace 7), who not only set out to restore the character’s thoroughly battered reputation in pop culture, but also to expand their cinematic universe with a history as similarly strong as Wonder Woman’s. The title character is once again shaped by Jason Momoa, who has the charisma (and charisma) to take the film smoothly on his back, but Aquaman also has an overwhelming visuals, not to mention the illustrious cast (Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Dolph Lundgren). Read our critique in which Chicken described what he found the film to be like, and you can read another review at Puliwood.
(Curiosity: For several years, Kidman has been an avid fan of Wan, whom he spoke of several times as a ‘new master of horror’ in his interviews, primarily in connection with his films Insidious and Between Demons.)
Billionaire Boys Club
The biographical drama of James Cox (Drug Farm), the Billionaire Boys Club, garnered the most attention by not cutting out Kevin Spacey’s scenes accused of sexual harassment, unlike all the money in the world. According to the story, two enthusiastic young people (Ansel Elgort, Taron Egerton) add up their knowledge to make big money through relationships, form a club of billionaire boys and start living the American dream, but they are blinded by a lot of money and make fatal mistakes when they get together in Beverly Hills ’coolest with his investor (Spacey).
(Curiosity: The story was worked out in a TV movie in 1987. Judd Nelson, who plays Ryan Hunt in the 2018 version, also starred in it.)
Dream Act (Second Act)
Peter Segal’s (Genius, Bare Pistol 33 1/3) tenth full-length film is a romantic comedy in which Jennifer Lopez’s character applies for a managerial position in the supermarket where he works but is rejected, which gives him a boost to live a life he’s always also dreamed. If you’re infinitely romantic-minded and love stories that end with a happy ending, Dream Dancer can fit in on a boring afternoon.
(Curiosity: The lead role would have been originally played by Julia Roberts, but eventually Jennifer Lopez became the finisher.)
