Ghost Recon Wildlands | Update adds new PvP maps, permanent death, solo mode and more.
THESpecial Operation 2 is the name of the next update to the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, scheduled to launch next week.
The new Ghost Recon Wildlands patch will be released on Tuesday, July 24th. This is the second of four updates to the game’s second year of live content, and brings some interesting features.
Special Operation 2 will include a striking new theme, PvE experiences, Ghost War updates, as well as resources requested by the community. Let’s dive into the details:
Ghost mode: Ghost mode was designed for the best among the best Ghosts. In this mode, you can create a new character to take down Santa Blanca under the most electrifying conditions.
– Having only one primary weapon, you will need to choose carefully. It will only be possible to exchange your equipment using an ammunition box or looting downed enemies.
– You will also need to plan your refills, as any ammo left in the magazine will be lost.
– Be extremely careful with your shots, Ghosts, or you can shoot your own cooperative team with friendly fire.
– And the most important: in Ghost mode, death is permanent. So cool head.
Ghost mode will be available for all difficulty settings, including Tier 1 mode. And, of course, this challenge does not come without rewards: we will reveal more about this in our patch notes. So put your skill to the test and enjoy the benefits that will come with success!
This free mode will be available to all players from July 24, 2018, with one week early access for those who have the year 2 pass.
Truly solo: Anyone looking for a lone wolf experience can now disable their AI-controlled teammates in our Campaign and in Ghost mode. Will you face this challenge?
New PvP maps: We have two new maps on the way to Ghost War, including a snowy map, much requested by the community.
Victory screen: The taste of victory will be even sweeter with the return of the victory screen at the end of Ghost War matches. The winning team will now be able to display their customizations and victory poses after a well-deserved triumph.
Observer Mode: Take your Ghost War experience to the next level with our new Observer mode. Just enter custom games to both watch and display your Ghost War games. Let’s play!
Ghost War challenges: New daily challenges will now be available in Ghost War, rewarding players with Prestige Credits for their hard work.
Prestige Economy: You gave your feedback and we listened! Special Operation 2 will bring about a reformulation of our Prestige economy. You can now earn Prestige Credits not only in Ghost War, but also in the Campaign (including in Ghost mode). A new tab will be added to the Store to allow you to spend your Prestige Credits not only on Ghost War classes, but also on Prestige Packs, which include customization items.
Year 2 pass updates: Whoever has the year 2 pass not only gains early access to all Ghost War classes, but now will also enjoy a week-long early access to Ghost mode, starting on July 24th. The year 2 pass also includes the Splinter Cell Equipment Pack and 8 Battle Boxes. You can buy the year 2 pass here.
New customization items: Over 100 new exclusive items have been added to our Battle Boxes, including new emotes, voice lines, customizable weapons, vehicles and more!
