The manufacturer GigaByte presents its new 900 series motherboards with socket AM3+ and support for the new AMD FX processors with up to eight cores.

Support for AMD FX Processor.
The GigaByte 900 series of boards integrate the new AM3+ socket with support for the upcoming AMD FX series of processors, the first processors targeting the consumer market with up to 8 native cores.
Latest Technology Multi-GPU Support.
AMD’s 900 series chipsets, with up to 42 PCI Express Gen 2.0 lanes, are also the first to include 4-way AMD CrossFireX and NVIDIA SLI modes. This means that with the 900 series of GigaByte motherboards you can run the latest games with the highest possible frame rates and resolution, without giving up the latest in multi-display configuration such as AMD Eyefinity and NVIDIA 3D VISION.
AM3+ Black Socket.
All GigaByte 900 series boards feature the new ‘Black Socket’ AM3+, meaning these boards are fully compatible with AMD AM3-based Phenom II and Athlon II processors. The AM3+ ‘Black Socket’ also features higher energy efficiency and better heat dissipation.
GIGABYTE Ultra Durable 3
The GigaByte Ultra Durable 3 design uses two ounces of copper for the power and ground layers, dramatically lowering system temperatures by more efficiently dissipating heat from critical areas of the board like the CPU to the other parts of the printed circuit. Ultra Durable 3 also lowers the impedance of the printed circuit by 50%, which reduces electrical losses, also lowering the temperature of the components. The 2-ounce copper design also provides improved signal quality and lower EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) emission, resulting in better system stability and higher margins for overclocking.
MOSFET Drivers provide better power transfers and improved efficiency when working at high switching frequencies, thus responding to the high power demand of modern processors. Driver MOSFETs also help clear up VRM space, resulting in a cleaner, more orderly CPU area.
Integrated GIGABYTE 333 Acceleration.
Integrated GigaByte 333 Acceleration offers unmatched performance by integrating the latest SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and SATA Revision 3.0 (6Gbps) technologies. Using an additional Marvell SATA 3.0 controller, the GigaByte UD7 and UD5 motherboards offer the never-before-seen, up to 10 SATA 3.0 ports.
