Graddus plays random games: The Lawnmover Man, Snowboard Kids, GoldenEye: Rogue Agent and more!.
Contents
Graddus has 1106 games to be precise. For the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Switch of course, but also a lot of old stuff. Especially for SamaGame, the baklap picks five random games from his huge collection and plays them quietly …
With 1106 games in your collection, there are times when choice stress overwhelms you. What? The? ? Must? I? Play? For this feature I let fate decide: my girlfriend mentions a number between 1 and 1106, and I put the corresponding game in my console.

Clearly? Let’s go!
Game # 46 – The Lawnmower Man (SNES)
The Lawnmower Man. That is just as good blowing into the cassette, because it was still collecting a lot of dust. But what do you expect from an obscure SNES game based on an even more obscure science fiction movie starring a very young Pierce ‘007’ Brosnan … The Lawnmower Man is surprisingly entertaining though! Especially the corny 90s style is great. I don’t know if this movie game ever took itself seriously, but in 2017 it seems like a kind of parody of Blade Runner and The Terminator.

In addition, it plays fine. As Brosnan’s character Dr. Angelo I shoot a lot of bad guys with my laser gun, while in the background delicious synthesizer beats are pumping from the speakers. What else do you want? There are even some sort of rudimentary 3D levels in which I run through VR environments in some nanosuit. Unfortunately, the frustration factor is high, with many unforgivable pieces and even some cheap deaths. Still, all in all, I am happy that The Lawnmower Man is in my collection.

Game # 1007 – Apollo 11 VR (PlayStation 4)
Hey, a recent game! Although, game … Apollo 11 for the PlayStation VR is more of an ‘interactive experience’ as it is so beautifully called. I bought it during the last winter sale because it was really 2 euros or something and I never regretted it.

You joint Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on their legendary moon landing from 1969. This is done through different scenes, such as the launch, a look inside the ___pit and the actual landing itself. Not everything comes out equally well (during launch Armstrong and Aldrin behave like they have a tia), but when Apollo 11 VR does its best it is very impressive. Take that piece when the rocket drifts around the earth, the music swells dramatically and that blue-green ball suddenly seems very vulnerable. Goosebumps moment though.
Hopefully this kind of gam … er, interactive experiences will appear more often for the PSVR. How about the last hours on the Titanic? New York during 9/11? Or the most special: a stroll through the PU editors? Wow.

Game # 783 – Vampire Rain (Xbox 360)
Sometimes you have those games that accidentally end up in your collection. Vampire Rain, for example. It’s like this: I used to make bets with a friend, where the loser had to buy a game chosen by the winner and then get the full 1000 Gamerscore for it. Now you should know that Vampire Rain scores a 3 on Metacritic and you understand that that friend had me nice …
But as wooden as the stealth gameplay is, somehow Vampire Rain and I clicked. The game even became a personal favorite. It cannot be a coincidence that he is now out of the hat. And I must say: the good feeling is back immediately. As always, I explore the rainy streets, avoiding vampires that – if they spot you – are an instadeath in 99 out of 100 cases. Yes, Vampire Rain is pure self-punishment, but maybe this is my disgusting answer to a need that Dark Souls was never able to give me. I would like to thank that friend for figuring out this game for me.

Game # 551 – GoldenEye: Rogue Agent (PlayStation 2)
Guys, how I was looking forward to GoldenEye: Rogue Agent at the end of 2004. A spiritual sequel to the fantastic GoldenEye, that had to be ridiculously cool , right? Well no. The reality is that Rogue Agent is nowhere near the quality of its N64 predecessor, and is also an absolute joke as a standalone product.
As the name suggests, you play a renegade secret agent who, along with iconic 007 villains like Goldfinger and Dr. No, only has one goal: to kill hordes of generic enemies. Oh, and something with a bionic super weapon or something. Nice and important. The only thing that makes GoldenEye: Rogue Agent even more cool is the voice of Christopher Lee as Scaramanga, who briefs you between missions about new upgrades for your golden eye. Your golden eye … Sigh.
So it’s that I want all the James Bond games in my collection, because in terms of entertainment value, I just as love stick a hot pin up my .

Game # 234 – Snowboard Kids (Nintendo 64)
The Nintendo 64 is probably my favorite console ever. I have all 250 European releases for the system, so there was no other way that one would be in this list. I am glad it is Snowboard Kids. Because where N64 fun racers always talk about Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong Racing, this cult classic rarely disappeared from my console during the warm summer of 1998. So happy. So Japanese. So funny.
Now that I give Snowboard Kids a crank again after years, I am sold again almost immediately. I even remember all the music! Hoppa, there I slide down Grass Valley, a slope that is not covered with snow, but with grass; Snowboard Kids all the way. The weapons are also quite … ‘typical’, including a snowman, a frying pan and a annoying parachute that launches you into the air and drops you back onto the track with pain.
I’ve never been on a winter sports holiday in my life, but when I go I hope it’s as much fun as Snowboard Kids. Just to be on the safe side, I bring a frying pan.
