GRID Legends is now available worldwide, features action-packed gameplay, hop-in cross-platform multiplayer, global locations and an epic story mode.

Codemasters and Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) today released GRID™ Legends, an action-packed racing game that will keep you on the edge of your seat and enjoy cross-platform multiplayer gameplay, a unique story mode, and lightning-fast connections with friends. The hop-in gameplay mechanic is revolutionary, allowing players to join a race in seconds, without having to wait in lobbies. Other innovations include the intuitive Race Creator to let players create the races of their dreams and ‘Driven to Glory’, an epic motorsports story where players compete against superstars in the prestigious GRID World Series.

In-race choreography has been revamped in GRID™ Legends, meaning no two races are the same. AI drivers’ unique personalities guarantee unpredictable racing at every turn, so players should always expect the unexpected. AI cars compete for race positions and take risks to stay ahead. The vibrant world of GRID Legends brings unpredictable moments, such as crashes, revving engines and cars that flip right in front of you. The game takes players to every corner of the world, with 130 routes available at launch, including real-life tracks such as Brands Hatch and Indianapolis, and iconic street circuits in Dubai and London.

“GRID Legends is the perfect racing game to play with friends and tear around the world’s most iconic cities,” said Mark Green, GRID Senior Development Director at Codemasters. “Our players can expect even more variety and choices. From ‘Driven to Glory’ and an in-depth career mode to the Race Creator and hop-in cross-platform multiplayer. There is something available for every racing enthusiast and we can’t wait to see everyone on the grid.”

From launch, players can choose from over 100 vehicles to race and upgrade, from classic coaches and trucks to electric cars, single-seaters and hybrid cars. The in-game Race Creator allows players to shape the races of their dreams and multi-class options allow trucks to compete against very compact vehicles in a race where the rules are the same for everyone. There is also a randomiser button available for players who want to dive into the action faster. Once a race is created this way, players can host online events here in private lobbies for friends or make them public to the global community. All multiplayer options feature cross-platform functionality, making it easy for players and friends to get together no matter what platform they’re playing on.

‘Driven to Glory’ is a modern story mode presented in a documentary style, including live footage, driver interviews and preconceived in-game events. The story follows Driver 22, an unknown driver on the track who tries to work his way up from novice to world champion. He takes on established names, including Nathan McKane of Ravenwest. The live content brings players closer to the action and the cast that brings this content to life is very diverse, including award-winning British actor Ncuti Gatwa.
