With the release of a version for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, GTA 5 is once again among the main subjects of the gamer world. In the last 7 days, the title reached 6.8% of views on Twitch, ahead of Elden Ring (6.6%), CS:GO (3.3%) and Fortnite (2.3%), for example.
And to take advantage of the hype that has returned around the game, the youtuber El Analista de Bits published a video comparing the performance of the production in video games of the current generation and in the PC. The content producer, who had already released a comparison between new and old consoles, recalled that the game did not get a new patch for the computer and that the analysis was based on a 2015 version running in Ultra mode.
Check out, below, the original YouTuber video analyzing how the game runs on different devices:
In general, the youtuber points out that the performance of GTA 5 is very similar between the consoles and the Ultra mode on the PC. In terms of texture, for example, it is not possible to notice any big difference.
It used the RTX 3050, RTX 3060Ti, RTX 3070Ti and RTX 3080 graphics cards. The first one features 2560 x 1440p resolution, while the other three have 3840 x 2160p resolution. In terms of frames per second, the RTX 3080 does better in this regard, averaging just over 70 fps.
One of the ways a computer does better, however, is the density of vegetation. While on consoles the green area appears to be a little simpler, on the computer more details are shown and the number of particles is noticeably higher. The PC also features better visibility of distant objects such as houses and buildings.
the consoles
In the case of consoles, El Analista de Bits used the Fidelidade, Performance and Ray Tracing modes to compare GTA 5. The first mode runs at 2160p and 30 fps, the second at 1440p and 60 fps and the third at 1440p dynamic and 60 fps, both on PS5 and Series X. Series S runs the game at 1440p and 30 fps (Fidelity) or 1080p and 60 fps (Performance).
Because it has been improved in several aspects, the version for the current generation of consoles manages to present shorter loading times (the PS5 cuts the intro and that’s why it starts faster than the others), corrections and extra lighting effects, better reflections in mode Fidelity compared to PC.
