There are two different phases in this fight, During the first phase, Rikiwulf will wield a very large ax with both hands. Attacks with this ax are very slow but will take a large amount of health from the player. Rikiwulf will begin to glow with a red aura before using a stronger attack. Rikiwulf will be stunned for a while after launching any of these attacks, allowing the player to deal damage. Just keep dodging and attacking until he lets go of the big ax and switches to his double hammers.

During the second phase of the fight, Rikiwulf is considerably faster than before, but since his weapons aren’t as powerful, his new attacks can be blocked by pressing the block button just before his attacks hit them, which will momentarily stun Rikiwulf. You then have a few seconds to attack it as many times as you want. If Rikiwulf turns red for a while, it means he’s about to use his kick. You’ll just have to keep parrying and attacking until Rikiwulf falls.

The opponent has two sets of weapons: a two-handed ax with a large reach and two one-handed hammers. Rikiwulf uses the ax to make slow swings. The two one-handed weapons allow it to attack much faster and deliver multiple hits in a series.

When Rikiwulf uses the two-handed ax, he often telegraphs his stronger attack. Note that a red ball surrounding the boss just before he uses skills such as an overhead swing, uppercut swing, or left-to-right attacks – this is a sign to avoid on side or back. Your opponent is helpless for a while after a failed attack – this is your chance to attack them multiple times.

At some point, Rikiwulf will drop the bulky two-handed weapon and start using two-handed hammers. This will make the boss much faster.

Rikiwulf’s quick attacks can be dodged, but it’s best to block them with the shield and parry to gain an advantage.. Remember to press the block button right before you get hit.

Below we have detailed how to beat Rikiwulf

How to beat Rikiwulf

Rikiwulf has two types of weapons he attacks with, the Two-Handed Ax and the Two Hammers. Both weapons serve as near-mid-range weapons that it flips over to hit you.

While his two-handed ax weapon is heavier and will take a long time to hit you, if he manages to land on you, you will take a significant amount of damage. On the other hand, its close-range hammers are fast and deal a small amount of damage if you get hit.

[GUIDE] : Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: How to beat Rikiwulf

To defeat Rikiwulf, you must take advantage of all of his missed attacks. For example, his ax attacks are quite slow and take a long time for him to follow another attack. His ax attack also indicates when he’s about to hit you with them, which serves as a warning sign to either dodge to either side or back down. Dodging to the sides will allow you to strike back at Rikiwulf while he remains vulnerable for a brief moment.

When Rikiwulf realizes you might have the advantage, he’ll switch to his hammers, allowing him to produce a series of quick attacks in one go. Now, while you can dodge his attacks, the best way to deal with Rikiwulf’s hammers is to parry his attacks and then counterattack. This will ensure that you have full control of the fight at all times, no matter which weapon it comes at you with.

[GUIDE] : Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: How to beat Rikiwulf

In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you will have to save Bragi by killing Rikiwulf. This boss is the first in the game and also serves as a tutorial on some combat mechanics. The fight should be straightforward, but if you have any issues this guide will outline some strategies for winning the Rikiwulf boss fight in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Rikiwulf Boss

At the end of the cutscene, the fight will officially begin. Fighting Rikiwulf isn’t a big deal as long as you keep a few things in mind and make sure you adopt a consistent combat strategy.

In this guide, I have briefly explained how you can successfully take down this bully.

Fortunately, Rikiwulf is just another Viking and not a beast, so you can expect a very human fight with him. It is not really fast and that is going to be your advantage.

Rikiwulf starts fighting you with a single two-handed ax until his health drops to half, which is where he switches to two one-handed axes.

During combat, all you need to do is perfectly time your attacks and dodge his attacks.

By dodging attacks, your stamina bar will be depleted. This bar must remain full if you wish to continue to dodge Rikiwulf’s deadly attacks.

Approach him only when the stamina bar is full so that when you attack you have the stamina ready to perform dodges.

Dodging his attacks will be in slow motion to help time.

A red rune and flashes will indicate when Rikiwulf is about to unleash an attack; You have to dodge when this happens.

As soon as his attack combos are over, launch your own attacks against him. He’ll stumble a bit and that’s when you should pull out and wait for your stamina bar to fill up.

Once the bar is full again, approach it again and repeat the above process. The fight will end with you smashing his head using his own weapons, which is pretty cool.

Slay Rikiwulf

You will then be able to fight for the first time a boss type enemy which will also serve as a tutorial. Dodge each of his attacks, being very careful that your stamina bar doesn’t run out too quickly. Dodge his attack and chain 3 hits to make sure you don’t take much damage.

Once Rikiwulf is killed, you will witness a new cutscene, sort of a rather strange sight that will leave you speechless. You will get a lot of pieces of equipment as well as your father’s ax.

Fight against Rikiwulf:

Climb on the logs then cross the rope allowing you to reach the roof of the highest building in the area. Then, go down by the fireplace to access the interior of the house in which the prisoners will be. As soon as you arrive, you will have to face Rikiwulf, the Boss of Avaldsnes. This fight will take place in the form of a tutorial.

If you have two weapons, you will have to dodge your opponent’s attacks by pressing the X / Square button at the right time to perform a dodge. Otherwise, hold down the LB / L1 trigger to take the boss’s hits with your shield. Be careful, each parry hit will lower your stamina bar.

Press R3 to lock your target then step aside to dodge their attack. Then hit him with a light attack and take your distance. Depending on the level of difficulty chosen, you will be able to take more or less risk during this fight. After lowering the boss’s health bar by 50%, the boss will change their primary weapon.

Indeed, Rikiwulf will no longer use his two-handed ax but a duo of hammers. Be careful, in fact the Boss will be much more mobile and able to touch you two to three times in a row thanks to its sequences.
