How to set up a bot match

Required to go offline or in a private match

Players will not be able to stage a match against Bots in the regular multiplayer mode. You will need to either log out or start a private match to do so.

(PS4) How to go offline

When launching the game, cancel the connection process to be able to disconnect. Once you’re done, you’ll have access to local multiplayer instead of online multiplayer.

(PC) How to start a private match

Go to the multiplayer lobby where you will be able to select a game mode. Choose the “Private Match” option. to create a lobby.

Select the Bot Setup tab

Once you have launched a lobby, you will be able to customize the robots in the Robot configuration tab in the Game configuration menu. Map, game mode and game rules can also be changed here.

Customize bot number and behavior

In the Bot Configuration tab, you can change the number of team bots and enemies and their behavior. The amount of bots you can add depends on the game mode you are going to play, but the most is 11.

What are bot matches?

Fight enemy AI in multiplayer mode

Robots are computer controlled opponents that you can fight with. They follow a predetermined algorithm to determine their behavior, which varies depending on your settings and situation.

Can only add bots to specific game modes

Not all game modes can be played with robots. There are only a few players that you can configure to play with Bots instead of other players.

Does not add XP or unlock

You won’t be able to earn XP or unlock new weapons or attachments when playing against bots. Matches with bots aren’t considered multiplayer after all.

Ideal for training and trying

Playing in matches with bots is a good way to practice and try new launches before starting multiplayer matches. It’s also a great way to get familiar with maps.

How to play with bots in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

If you want to spend some time learning Call of Duty: Modern Warfare without having to take pride in shotgun hunters, then you are in luck. There is a way to play multiplayer maps against bots, giving you plenty of time to learn lanes, angles, and lines of fire before taking on the savages that live on Call of Duty’s servers. They won’t be easy on you while you learn the ropes, so there’s no harm in spending a few laps taking on the AI.

There are two different methods, depending on your platform, so we’ll go through both here.

On pc

On PC, it’s super easy to do. Just select Local Multiplayer, then set up a private game. In the bot configuration menu, you can choose the number of bots on the map and their behavior.

On console

The console is a bit more annoying. You will need to be offline, so either cancel the online connection when starting the game or select Disconnect when loading. After that, you need to go to the Local Multiplayer option and set up your private match. If you are connected to the Internet, the Local Multiplayer option will not be visible.

After that it’s like on PC, you will have to use the bot setup options to decide how many bots are in the game and what they do. Now you can train on your own without having your time spent learning negatively impacting your stats and self-esteem.

CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE: BOTS AND CUSTOM GAMES WILL BE BACK

While waiting for more information on certain specificities of Modern Warfare, the developers do not hesitate to answer certain questions that the community may ask. Thus, among other things, we learned that bots and custom games would indeed be available.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will benefit from the largest amount of DLC…

Since its officialization at the end of May, multiple information has been revealed about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, especially on the multiplayer aspect. If the campaign was briefly discussed, it still remains a mystery, and should soon be presented to the community, as Taylor Kurosaki, the narrative director of Infinity Ward recently said.

However, it was on the Reddit community site that some details were revealed, through Brian Baker, level designer for the development studio. The latter therefore specifies that custom games will be back, with, for example, the possibility of organizing 3 against 3, or 1 against 1, on Skirmish mode maps, being designed for 2-on-2 combat.

In addition, players who do not have a subscription to play online, such as Xbox Live or PlayStation +, will still be able to take advantage of bots, allowing to simulate multiplayer games, although the experience will remain quite different. If we refer to the old games, their number, as well as their level, should be adjustable. Finally, Brian Baker also confirms the “Realistic” mode, similar to a hardcore mode, removing all elements of the HUD, increasing the difficulty, while allowing full immersion.

This new opus promises to be complete by promising, already, content pleasing to all types of players. In addition, many additions should be made after the release of the title, for free. While waiting for the release on October 25 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, we remind that a beta will be organized from September 12.
