There are dozens of different weapons available for Eivor in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Some of these items are of the mythical variety, rarest, and most powerful weapons in the game. The Excalibur, King Arthur’s legendary sword, is a loot that everyone may be familiar with. You can unlock the Excalibur at the start of the game, as soon as you arrive in England. The process of obtaining, however, can be a journey. Here’s how to get the Excalibur sword in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
How to get the Excalibur sword in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
To get the Excalibur sword in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you need to find 11 tablets. You can get eight of these tablets from Mystery Events on the map (blue markers). These locations consist of underground caves containing resources and treasures.
The remaining three tablets come from the defeat of enemies known as Zealots. These fanatics are Heike, Hrothgar and Woden.
After obtaining all 11 tablets, you can visit Myrddin’s Cave, located in Hamtunscire, to activate a stone circle. Inserting the 11 tablets allows you to remove the Excalibur. Here is a walkthrough on how to get the tablets.
Tablet Location 1 – Grime’s Graves: East Anglia
Head to the Grime’s Graves site in East Anglia. You search for a cave and when you discover it, a tablet icon appears. The same goes for all these locations with tablets. Head to the end of the cave and collect the runes from the chest. Break the pottery on the table to get your first tablet.
Tablet location 2 – Old cellar, Essex
South of Colcestre in Essex you will find the Old Cellar Cave. Again, you will see a tablet on your screen as you approach the cave. Burst open the barrels at the end of the cave. This will cause liquid to spill in the center of the room and expose the tablet.
Location of Tablet 3 – Cave of Trials, one hundred
Head to Hundred and look for the Cave of Trials, northeast of Canterbury. Go down the hole to enter the cave. Crush the pottery to make your way deeper into the cave. Collect the keys in the air and enter the area containing the moving objects. Arrange them so that you can jump into the area and access your tablet.
Location of tablet 4 – Santlache mine, Suthsexe
West of Cent is the cave of the Santlache mine in Suthsexe. Head to the east entrance and make your way to the end. There is a platform puzzle at the end, so jump and collect the opal. Dive into the water and hold your breath to get to the back of the area. Get out of the water and pick up your tablet.
Tablet location 5 – Red Lichen Cave, Hamtunscire
Tablet 5 is found in Suthsex, east of the town of Winchester. Run to the bottom of the cave. Look for the poison near the end of the area. Climb onto the ledge and extinguish the poison clouds with your torch. This allows you to access the tablet.
Tablet placement 6 – Wocig, Hamtunscire
Then go northwest of Westchester and look for the Cave of Trials. It is a straight cave with puzzles. Beware of lighting your torch as it could ignite you, especially towards the end. There is an explosive object near the end that reveals a hole in the wall. Go through the hole and get the tablet.
Tablet slot 7 – Wican’s Cave, Eurvicscire
Next stop is Wican Cave at Eurvicscire, near Northumbria. Look for a giant ice cave and head to the end. Do not hit the chickens or they will attack you all! Destroy the crates and the wall and detonate the explosives to knock down the wall. Slaughter other pigs and break the lock on the door to retrieve your tablet in the room.
Tablet location 8 – Deoraby Spar Cavern, Snotinghamscire
Once again near Northumbira you will be looking for the Deoraby Spar Cavern. Run through the cave and go up to grab the tablet. It’s a simple cave that isn’t too confusing.
Zélote 1 – Hrothgar, Suthsexe
All Zealots ride horses, and they are tougher than normal enemies. They can all browse areas, so you can’t find them in the exact places we show in the pictures. Hrothgar is in Suthsex, so follow the roads and you should meet him eventually.
Zélote 2 – Woden, Cent
Woden rides his horse on the roads of Cent. You might not find him at the exact location in the image below, but follow the main roads and you should eventually run into him. A marker appears on your map when you are nearby. You can actually stun this enemy with two blades if you’re having trouble. Defeating Woden gives you a tablet.
Zélote 3 – Heike, Essexe
Heike also rides horses, except he’s in the Essex region of England. Again, it moves around a lot, so you might not find it in the exact spot. Look for the Zealot marker on your map to identify where it is located.
Location of Excalibur
Once you have all 11 tablets, you can access Grotte de Myrddin in Hamtunscire. Head to the area shown on the map below, which is another cave. Go through the caves. It’s a long haul, but there’s nothing particularly difficult here. You will dive from a high cliff into water and have to swim to the bottom through an opening and on a path.
Keep swimming until you can exit through the opening. Climb on the stones to the right, jump through the holes and continue through the cave. Eventually you will come across a large stone object on the ground. You will come to a bunch of large stone structures in a semicircle formation. Insert the tablets into each of the stones and Excalibur will light up, allowing you to remove it from the stone.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Obtain Excalibur Sword
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is out and promises long and enjoyable hours of play. Today, we help you wield Excalibur
Ubisoft has therefore released Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, offering an immensely pleasant dive into the world of the Vikings. Our test is already available at this address if you want to know why it is so popular. As it had done for the previous episodes, it hides a fairly deep lore with investigations, mysteries and legends to be discovered in the main quests but also many side missions.
Thus, we will focus on the discovery of the legendary sword of Excalibur. It is linked to the Caladfwlch trophy. Be careful, this will not be easy. The quest still requires finding 11 tablets and then going to a specific location, finally the magic of Excalibur will take effect.
Stage 1: the treasures of Brittany
Clearly, this is a collectible hunt here. Rest assured, only 8 treasures (+3, see next part of this guide) are distributed and hidden in the four corners of the map, and with this guide, you won’t have to search for long. Moreover, the most incredible is that they are hidden underground. You will be inspired to scan the environment with R3 to help you spot them once there – and once the puzzle has been solved. In general, you are on the right track if you come across a wall inscription with an enigmatic text. If this one seems fuzzy to you, don’t panic, the riddle that follows is usually easy to understand once it’s in front of your eyes.
- East Anglia (handle)
- Essex (horn)
- Hundred (chessboard)
- Suthsexe (cauldron)
- Hamtunscire x2 (cloak and cloak)
- Eurviscire (jug and dish)
- Snotinghamscire (whetstone)
Stage 2: The tablets of Woden, Heike and Hrothgar in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
The other three tablets will ask you for more than just exploring. It will indeed be necessary to find the zealots below and to come to the end in order to tear off them the tablets which they have. We warn you, they are rather difficult at the beginning of the game, and you will surely have to pay them a visit with good equipment and solid skills after having advanced a little in the game …
- Woden is hiding in the Hundred.
- Heike is hiding in Essex.
- Hrothgar is hiding in Suthsex.
If you have trouble finding them on the map, take into account that they only move on roads. Take advantage of the fact that your crow doesn’t really have a movement limit to fly over the affected region. With luck, you can spot the Zealot from a distance and stick a marker on it; if not, take a look at your map after having combed the region with the raven: if you missed the Zealot, it will still be added to the markers of the map if you passed near him without knowing it.
Stage 3: on the way to Excalibur!
To close this chapter leading to the legendary sword of Excalibur, it will be necessary to go to the caves of Myrdinn.
It is a small course which awaits you here. Between sequences of platforms and diving underwater, you will remember your trip. Finally, 11 stones will surround the sword and you will have to place the 11 tablets recovered previously in order to activate Excalibur.
Suffice to say that you will not have made the trip for nothing, since it is a high quality sword, useful in combat. Her stats show it well, as she has 130 Attack, three Rune slots and high critical strike chance.
