Google Statia vs Project xCloud What is the best Cloud Gaming platform?
For some time now, the world of the gamer is not limited to a console or a PC and to a memory, the great video game empires began to offer robust streaming services in the cloud. With this, the user does not even need to occupy memory on his devices or buy titles, a good internet connection is sufficient to start the online game with truly impressive image quality and detail. And the best thing about it all is that you don’t lose your parts or progress in the game.
More which platforms are the best to take advantage of Cloud Gaming on mobiles? Well, among the most innovative and promising are Google Stadia and Project xCloud (property of Microsoft). Both have passed the beta phase, although it must be recognized that Stadia did so for the first time in 2019, a year before its competition. But the best thing is that you can get different benefits in each of them . For example, for Google Stadia, you will have a fairly acceptable third-party game catalog.
Among the developers, you will find Square Enix ou Ubisoft . In fact, so far you can enjoy up to 40 titles, as the number continues to grow. On the other side of the coin is the xCloud project. There are more than 100 proposals with a combination of titles Game Pass and others, all belonging to Xbox. The company clarified that it is working intensively on exclusive games for the platform. However, its main goal is to complete the more than 3,500 titles played on consoles and PC.
Here’s the differentiator that beats Stadia. For Project xCloud, you don’t have to purchase the games independently , but with a monthly subscription that starts at just $ 1, you can access hundreds of titles almost for free. In fact, with this technology, your console functions as a streaming server. Yes, the platform has the ability to stream multiple titles without changes from the original developer . This indicates that as soon as updates appear on Xbox One games, they will also work for xCloud.
So a big advantage is to have these games on the console and as quickly as possible to have them the same on mobile. Note that the two streaming services offer cross-platform AAA games . Statia tries to balance its weaknesses by offering monthly games, discounts and promotions. However, it fails to overcome the uniformity that Microsoft offers in this regard. From xCloud, you can enjoy ARK: Survival Evolved Explorer’s Edition, Mortal Kombat X, and Pillars of Eternity, among others.
Regarding performance, startup in Project XCloud happens immediately . Although it is a bit slower (around 20 seconds) than Stadia, it is quite fast. Much more than, for example, GeForce Now which takes a few minutes. Many users pointed out that it was like playing directly with the Xbox One S. And that’s exactly where the developers wanted to hit.
They want instead of replacing their consoles, this is an add-on feature. Of course, in adding the advantage for the player to be able to connect far from home . If we are talking about the Android version, both candidates have the advantage of working with version 6.0 or higher. It should be noted that the two work great when it comes to latency . In other words, there is no perceptible or at least significant r **** d.
However, another point where it has an advantage is the cost. What does it matter when a streaming service is good if it isn’t profitable? This is why xCloud has the upper hand with its 3 months payment of 1 € and open catalog. A clear difference with Google Stadia. On this platform, some games are free, but most must be purchased individually in the store. Along with all this we have the question of controls: is the control offered by the Xbox mandatory? Not necessarily.
In theory, this works well with other branded Bluetooth controllers that gamers already own. In short, while Google made the tournament difficult, Microsoft is still leading the way. A more complete and better known catalog, good costs, multiplatform integration are valuable advantages. Not to mention the premium graphics and other perks that affiliates enjoy. And you , what are you waiting for to get into your android smartphone to play?
