[GUIDE] : How to play and download Apex Legends on iOS?

Apex Legends continues to set records, the battle royale of Respawn Entertainments and Electronic Arts now has more than 50 million active players! It only took a month for the title to reach this level. As soon as it was released on console and PC, EA had announced that a mobile version (Android and iOS) was in development. Since this announcement, which dates back to early February, it is radio silence on the side of the publisher. While waiting for the release of this official version, know that you can already play Apex Legends from your iPhone with a very simple trick.

Stream your PS4 on your iPhone

To play Apex Legends on your iPhone, the easiest solution is to stream your PS4 directly to your iPhone. You will understand, this implies that you already own the Sony console. How to access your PS4 from your iPhone or iPad?

To play PS4 games from your iOS device, you must use the PS4 Remote Play app. This is the official application developed by Sony. Note that it is also available on macOS, and Windows.

Before using PS4 Remote Play, you must first adjust a few settings on your PS4. Here is the list of things to do before streaming Apex Legends on your iPhone:

  • Make the 6.5.0 bet on the PS4 system.
  • Enable remote access in the PS4 Remote Play Connection Settings.
  • Set the console as the primary PS4 in Account Management Settings
  • Go to the Power management settings> Define the features available in rest mode to check the boxes “Allow activation of the PS4 from the network” and “Stay connected to the Internet”.
  • Download PS4 Remote Play on your iPhone and link your iPhone to your PS4 by entering your PSN (Playstation Network) credentials.
  • The Playstation interface should then appear on the iPhone screen. Go to the Playstation Store to download Apex Legends if you don’t already have it in your game library.
  • Technical characteristics

    • PS4 Remote Play is compatible with recent iOS devices (minimum iPhone 7 or 6th generation iPad or iPad Pro 2).

Apex Legends Mobile : du gameplay des versions iOS

We now know a bit more about porting Apex Legends. It will inevitably be less beautiful on mobile, but will not lack attractions.

Apex Legends has been around for over 2 years now, has over 100 million followers and it’s been almost as long as Respawn Entertainment has promised us a mobile version. It finally took shape last week with the announcement of a Apex Legends Mobile, a separate edition without cross-play with PCs and consoles. Little had been said about it, except that the title would be suitable for iOS and Android with touch controls, but a test session has already come from debut in India and the Philippines, allowing us to see much more. And obviously, Electronic Arts has not put an embargo on the distribution of gameplay videos, because these abound on the Web. So, Apex Legends Mobile, what does it look like ?

Not surprisingly, we find the sensations and the settings of the Battle Royale, in FPS or TPS view. The HUD is quite rich, to display the necessary commands and information, and the graphics are much more sketchy than what the high-end versions offer. You can already appreciate the small kinematics of launching the application, as well as slight differences, such as the inscription of the name of the zones on the map during the drop, at the Warzone.

Note that only the Edge of the World map and the Legends Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Warith, Bangalore, Caustic, Octane and Wattson are playable at this time, but the content will certainly evolve between now and the official international launch in a few months, and even after. No release date in sight for this Apex Legends Mobile, but you can get into free-to-play on PC with a few bonuses by purchasing the Octane Edition for € 19.99 via Amazon.fr.

Apex Legends could quickly adapt to iOS

The recipe for battle royale still tastes good, the proof with Apex Legends, which has conquered no less than ten million players since its launch earlier this week (!). The Respawn studio, creator of Titanfall and of this new game – whose gameplay is taken from Titanfall 2 -, made a good pick. Just like their publisher Electronic Arts who undoubtedly rubs their hands very very hard with dollars in their eyes.

The principle is just as easy to understand as in Fortnite or PUBG: 60 players in a closed place (100 for the other two games) and it is the one who remains at the end who wins the game. Apex Legends differs from its predecessors, however, by building a team of three fighters with special abilities, which adds a bit of spice to the fights. The title is free, it has in-app purchases.

The game looks roughly well done and we would love to play it all night long rather than working to test it to see what it is in the belly but unfortunately Apex Legends is only intended for PC and console players … for the moment. In view of the current box, EA has every intention of occupying the mobile niche. Andrew Wilson, the publisher’s boss, told investors the company is looking at how to port the game to mobile devices while still delivering a cross-platform experience.

The iOS and Android market obviously interests EA1. The launch of Fortnite on iOS allowed its publisher Epic to land the big cup. Electronic Arts will surely not be immune to these charms, although it will undoubtedly take a little development work: on PC, Apex Legends is graphically more demanding than its competitors and it is always difficult to adapt the controls to touch screens. .

IT IS NOW POSSIBLE TO PLAY APEX LEGENDS ON YOUR IPHONE

Expected for ages by iPhone users, Sony’s Remote Play app is finally available on iOS. This free application literally allows you to enjoy PS4 games from your library directly on your iPhone or iPad.

YOU CAN FINALLY STREAM YOUR PS4 ON YOUR IPHONE

Remote Play has been available for a long time on other platforms (Windows, macOS, Android). IPhone users, left behind for so long, can finally enjoy it. The application allows, as on the platforms mentioned above, to play PS4 titles on his iOS device. This is a tool for streaming PS4 games on the iPhone. The application therefore requires a good connection for a satisfactory result.

Unfortunately, unlike Android, it is not possible to connect a PS4 Dualshock controller to the iPhone to control the app. The controls are displayed directly on the screen as touch buttons. Sony did not indicate whether the app was compatible with mFi controllers.

To take advantage of this new feature, you must first install the update 6.5.0 of the PS4 system and have a recent iPhone (at least the iPhone 7, or the 6th generation iPad).

HOW TO RUN APEX LEGENDS ON IOS?

Although Apex Legends is not yet available on iOS, it is already possible to launch the game on your iPhone using the remote play feature of the PS4.

    1. After updating your PS4, go to the Remote play connection settings to activate remote access.

    2. Also make sure that your PS4 is set as the primary PS4 in your Account management settings.

    3. The third step is to go to the “Power management settings“, Then in “Define the functionalities available in idle mode”. You will then tick the boxes “Stay connected to the Internet” and “Allow activation of the PS4 from the network”.

    4. Download Apex Legends from the Playstation Store.

    5. Download the PS4 Remote Play app from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
